Played one session today. Wild wild stuff. Was couple bins up, then suddenly couple bins down and moment later again up few buyins. Made quite a few bluffs which mainly went through. Will probably post some hands or perhaps make video later on.
Got bit creative in this one versus reg.

Hmm MTT could have potentially some value as well:
Was trying to give timestamped link but I suppose its not supported with youtube tags. Anyway brave bluff catch on 2:23
I open BU and call versus 3bet from BB. BB cbet 3/4 pot, I raise and we get allin. Absolutely standard from me. Villain 3bet on bit wide side with that disconnected KKxxss even versus BU open imo. Anyway what would be your out of hat estimation of equities on flop? Think of answer before checking spoiler.

When I asked that from myself I thought its likely flip with villain blocking one of my outs. Though I also block one of his improvement outs and actually fact that I have 2 super nut outs helps little as well. But having 55% equity versus top set is quite wild imo

Perhaps if enough people requested it in feedback and suggestions the back-room staff could make it happen.
I would love this.

This one was with perfect turn card. Called BU open from SB, x-c flop and x-r versus pot turn bet.

Got to love this guy as he overplay so so much. Perhaps bit too optimistic play here postflop from BU...

BB should have easy snap fold preflop. Flop line would probably be fine 100bb deep but 200bb deep not recommendable to x-r imo. He is doing ok versus dry straight but when I 3bet this deep I pretty much say I have better than dry straight. Could be hands like 9987, A87x+nfd, TTAx+nfd, TTQJ or AKQJ+nfd. So in reality villain very rarely has his outs that much alive. This time 5 outs which happened to hit. Also turn donk shove is bit weirdo in a way that board doesnt change at all but I suppose he thought that he doesnt want to fold and went for shove.
Just pretty brutal hand to lose.

you mention bb should snapfold pre - doesn't he kinda get decent odds for the type of hand he has to at least take a look at the flop, even oop?
not sure exactly what i'd have done, but assuming a call pre, would've tried to keep the pot small and just call flop / then see what happens on the turn.
raising the flop and folding to your reraise seems also ok to me.
So now i am wondering how shitty this train of thought in this spot actually is (both options). writing it out already makes it clear that just calling flop could become difficult on later streets, which doesnt necesserialy scare me too much here and would likely be depending a lot on my opponent.
Sorry if its a too complex question to give a simple answer to, but it seems i'd make major mistakes here so really wondering what concept i could look at / apply in this spot.
Hand like QJ65ss is pure trash. It doesnt have connectivity as whole or high suit. Hand like KQ76ds preferably with two high suits would still be fold when entering multiway pot. Problem with this type of hand is that its really tough to hit strong. Like lets say flop is QJ7. Sure you have top two but you wont have support for it most of time. Its very easy to run into hand like KQJT, AKQT etc. that will be in good shape especially with fd or bd fd. More so when I open raise from MP. Then of course QJ65 will often flop something like top and bottom on QT6 and hand is bit too strong to fold but will lead into really tough spots.
So in this game its about playability. Plus nuttiness especially in multiway pots. Player pool in my games does tremendous mistakes preflop by entering multiway pots with all sort of mediocre stuff. Most likely reasoning is "I am getting good price!", "I want to see flop!". Then they hit mediocre fd or bottom end wraps and end up often investing lot of money with non nutted draws.
There are several problems in BB x-r on flop. First off my cbet range is very narrow here. Very often I will just check. So when I do cbet I likely hold hand that either has good equity or good blockers. Plus it has to be really good blockers for me to cbet 3way on flop like this. Second issue is that villain doesnt block straight at all. When you raise in this spot you want to either block straight heavily or have such strong hand that it can continue versus 3bet or continue aggression on lot of turns. That also bring issue of stack depth like lets say I call flop raise and turn is 2♥:. What is BB plan? So actually even with 100bb stack I'm not really sure if raise is good. Hand just have so few nut outs. Anyway his hand has potential on flop but lack of nutty outs makes it mediocre and it should aim to play smaller pot imo.
thanks a lot - basically made exactly those mistakes today and can confirm, its rather stupid. got a bit tilted i guess and once i got a handle of myself could recover at least some of my losses ^^ anyhow really much appreciated that you are taking the time for a donk like me ♦
Didnt play today but checking some of my hands from yesterday. In this one was classic act and use eyes later on. So sure ok hand in general but when there are three short stacks behind value of these hands decrease quite a bit and I believe this should be open fold because of it. Well we get ton of action for my open and easy call to 3bet at this point.
Flop is pure miracle and question is should we donk bet? I think here we definitely want to check as MP (3bettor) has SPR 1 and CO only SPR 0.2. So if MP has AAxx, KKxx or better he will shove most of time. If not then CO definitely doesnt mind to shove any sort of hit. When that happen the only player I am bit deeper against might feel obliged to continue fairly wide and then I can go allin.
But I think spot changes somewhat if we all start 100bb deep. SPR would then be close to 2 and chance of hand going checked will increase ton. Though we have such strong hit that its not that horrible so I dont know. But it might be interesting option to donk bet really small like maybe even as low as 1/5 pot. Even with that sizing it would not be much over SPR 1 on turn if someone call and this type of size would put lot of hands into kind of awkward spot.
Range wise no one probably should hit this flop that much. Maybe 3bettor with AAxx most likely to have hit with side cards. Then again in reality you never know about people who like to cold call 3bets

Oooooohhhh he was bluffing, noice!
I thought PLO freeroll is when you flop nut straight +fd +top2 versus bare straight and bottom pair. And then lose to a runner runner full house. I had that today.
But also applied to MM anniversary freeroll, maybe it runs better.
Flop actually went as I hoped. Decided to trap with monster draw OOP. I think pre is fine to squeeze. No read on CO but BU was very call happy. Had 50% equity on flop.

Not playing today as its sauna day but have been watching some free content on Luuk Botter YT channel. Plus checking hands from yesterday.
I have not wrote that much about feelings/experiences etc. on this blog recently. So as most likely know my background (for over decade) has been mainly on different sort of sng and mttsng. But previous fall I decided to start on this omaha challenge which was quite a transfer from earlier. Cash games in general are also kind of new territory. I did play tiny bit of holdem cash but that has been very low volume. So new format in more than one way I would say. To be honest holdem cash felt always bit boring to me but so far my interest has stayed on good level in omaha.
So for this challenge it started with a bang. Basically my first month has been strongest one. But it was big part on very hot run I believe. With no tracking its more or less impossible to represent it though. After first month though run changed completely. I had some very very aggro tables on PLO50 which had opponents more on maniac side. Lot of spots with 3bet/4bet pots where I mainly had solid hands which I likely ended up overplaying somewhat postflop especially in multiway scenarios. Like theory wise those multiway 3bet or 4bet pots should be fairly rare but on those crazy tables its not that rare to have spot like MP open, hero 3bet CO or BU and pot ends up 4way with couple cold calls. Thing is that kind of tables might have high BB/100 EV but its also very variance heavy. This combined with timing where I started to play more on PLO50 created couple of sessions where I ended up losing 500-700€.
Basically first month my self confidence likely got bit too high. Its easy to feel like well this is easy as money is just pouring in. Hands hold and people are donating their moneys. But then on next month or two I was suddenly struggling to get breakeven result. Variance is obviously nothing new but its always extra pressure on self confidence when you are new to the format. Too much self confidence is bad thing but lacking it is way worse in poker. What it creates is uncertainty on more and more decisions which often leads into too passive play which likely mean decrease in edge. This then combined with some bad run and it becomes spiral that is hard to get out of. For me and I think lot of people it does help to focus on studying and I did go through some of the plomastermind content, posted lot of hands on hand analyze area, watched some streams/videos from much more experienced players, etc.
After that period things again started going better. Not as good months result wise as first one but fairly steady profits. Still posting lot of hands and keep studying content to improve. But yeah compared to few months ago there is definitely way less spots where I feel like being "all thumbs" (not sure if that is saying in English? In Finnish its "peukalo keskellä kämmentä").
For different limits its kind of interesting how different stakes are at least in Unibet if comparing like PLO10, 25, 50. More aggression is not surprising but I think there is actually way more of maniac sort of opponents on PLO50. Perhaps its about PLO50 being big enough that certain players feel enough excitement. With maniac I mean way too wide 3bet and sometimes 4bet ranges. Sometimes also very aggro approach postflop. I got once again reminder of that after getting crushed by one of these guys yesterday. Stuff like EP limp, MP open raise, maniac on BU 3bets QJ75ss and call my SB 4bet. Happy to see those guys but man its always bit frustrating to see these guys playing 80% of hands and crushing the table sitting with 500bb+ stacks. This might have been issue especially earlier in way that I likely ended up targeting these players by playing with wider ranges. Issue is that while my ranges were still ahead of these guys they were not crushing by any means. That creates small edge preflop allins and tough decisions postflop. Thing is that these guys often dont care if you play tight. They likely give action anyway. But it does also create interesting change in dynamics when there are one or even more of maniacs. Like suddenly its very viable to call (versus open raise) most strong hands preflop if opponent behind will 3bet 50% of hands.
Limpers and passive callers are on every limit but especially reggy players definitely understand game quite bit better on higher limits. Like I watched some stream from Kyyberi and he mentioned how its funny that some players are still using smaller than pot size raise these days. I was thinking well there is like maybe 20% of players in games I play that continuously open raise pot and dont open limp. Well to be exact SB open limping could be viable strategy but its not really big deal in high rake games and personally I have not studied that at all. More viable in PLO200+ or MTT probably.
Anyway will continue on this path after PLO challenge is complete and aim is to have it as main game in future. Perhaps also trying some omaha MTT but in general I am not big fan of mixing formats too much when experience is still somewhat low in cash side as well. I suppose in MTT approach with deep stacks is close to cash but shortstack is somewhat of unknown side. Most likely opponents have still leaks way more than I have in small stakes.
