Just checked that out of 10 biggest lost pots from today 7 were simply from villain way overplaying hand preflop and sucking out. Well one of those were spot where CO open, BU call, SB call and I went for squeeze with AKJ9ss. Everyone called, flop came A86ss where I potted bit over SPR 1 and CO called with 8853ss. That was perhaps bit too wide squeeze as these guys just dont know where fold button is.

Well need to put enough volume to get 500€ playthrough bonus open during this month.

Just finished only session I have planned for today. Sauna day after all so I dont want to stress with poker afterward usually :)

Anyway had bit of sunshine on tables. Once again though when there was vpip 90+ guy in plo50 table my deck got freezing cold and some reasonable hands didnt connect pretty much. Its just weird how often that seems to happen. Well anyway I did get some nice pots from other players.

This one was perhaps bit crazy call down. Villain is known maniac who 3bets almost all double suited hands. Preflop I dont love trip suited hand like this but in position and sidecards connected definitely not folding. I dont like that much my spot on flop or turn but folding felt weak. On river my price is really good and I knew villain is likely overbluffing A high flop. So perhaps I am good 20% of time. Villain perhaps shoving like AQ+ for value I would assume.

Well probably spewy play...

Other big pot in plo50 was versus same guy. Could 3bet or call preflop. With wheel card though I dont mind passive option. Flop both hands play themselves.

Do you ever wonder exactly what range opponent puts you on?
He beats a set of jacks which is a reasonable guess.
But that is a huge bet to call with a straight on a paired board

Tough to say if they think my range that often. In opponents shoes I would have folded preflop. Flop lead is not bad but it should be to fold to raise. Turn and river I would have folded as well.

Well for villain river decision my value range are mainly boats. Probably also nut flush with good boat blockers, e.g. AJ5x. So for villain anything less than boat is pure bluff catcher. Blocking J is probably most crucial component theory wise but I would not have any bluffs in this line versus this guy anyway.

Some profit from first session today but would have been ton better if this one holded. Had over 50% equity on flop.

Good example how population often way oveplay hands preflop. SB TT87ss I can somewhat understand. Imo its still best to fold preflop to that iso raise though. But CO KQ92ss iso raise and calling squeeze... Hand is soooo easily dominated in so many ways.

Yeah I dont know if anything moves in these guys head?

Turn SPR is bit over 1 so I am not folding my hand. Of course if villain always has trips+ then its losing play but doesnt need to be that often some KQJ etc. But that preflop play... :f_rolleyes:

Though dont get me wrong. I am very happy to play versus soft pool. But it can also be frustrating when most big pots lost are result of people making those overplays. Especially preflop people ranges are all over the place.

On other hand it does also bring these sort of big pots that would never happen versus somewhat decent opponents:

Oh man what day... Tiny bit down but so many beats that I would not be surprised if EV would have been like 8bin up or something. 80% on turn was paper several times and 60-70% way more often. Well I almost opened current 100€ bonus which will be done tomorrow. Main goal this month volume wise is to release 500€ bonus. Still some way to go but shouldnt really require anything absurd. At least if I dont run bad enough to drop plo50 tables (fingers crossed).

I would say punt of the day happened on plo25 table. Example of how to not use nut blockers:

Played only little bit to open bonus today but got this nice rivered nuts spot. Hand itself play itself and only question is how big we want to go? I think theory wise we definitely want to go big, e.g. 0.75-1x pot make most sense as we say "we have nuts or nut blocker". Interesting question in this specific spot is how believable our nuts are?

I think BB range for betting river 3way is probably like J high flush or better. I have seen player but cant really remember anything specific so probably reasonable one. Anyway I think this is sort of spot where we might get looked somewhat more often as lot of people seems to think A high flush would play more aggro earlier streets most of time. Anyway I went for full pot raise on river but what is your preference without reads?

Also had these two spicy spots:

In this one I had seen villain x-r-f flushing river very quickly which seemed like a bluff play. That definitely played a role in feeling good about this hero call. Combo wise I have some nut outs, block straight and unblock hearts so I am pretty sure this is not hand we can fold gto wise. But yeah without any reads... Might be reasonable. Though if our plan is to fold blank river should we perhaps just fold turn then? We definitely have combos with better equity for turn call that are then better river folds unimproved.

Though this might gto wise be spot where BB should not even have flop x-r range as my EP range just crush this flop. Also villain sizing was noteworthy on flop. I think lot of pool at least would raise bigger with nuts. Could of course be indicator of nuts with strong support.

Another thin spot came in this one. Flop I would have folded without nut bdfd. Not really sure if this is strong enough either. Its close for sure but probably bit strong to fold flop. When I hit fd on turn there is no folding anymore. Well this EP villain was running yesterday super hot versus me so bit of justice in this one. As seen in this hand this fellow is playing too wide preflop. Also 3betting/squeezing lot of single suited rundowns.

Are you saying that your open raising K♦: 2♥: A♣: Q♦: was a punt?
Except for the 2♥: it seems a legit hand — and even then it can turn a wheel.

I meant how villain used his nut blockers in hand. Well I did punt or two of my own that day as well.

Funny day poker wise. Fine result with 200€ up but also I got beat twice by quads.

In this BU limped, I raised from SB, BB and BU call. Flop I went for x-r pot and BU stick it in on flop.

In this open BU and BB lead three street. Was feeling like "seriously twice in same day".

I got curious...
Flop:
Board: Q♣5♣8♠
Equity  Scoops  Wins Hi  Ties Hi  Wins Lo  Ties Lo
MP3   66.40%  57.93%   57.93%    5.73%   15.59%    0.00% { 8dTc9c6d }
SB    33.60%  25.14%   30.61%    5.73%    0.00%    0.00% { AhAc9hTh }

I would have thought you would have more equity than that OTF, but oh that turn card!

Villain T9 was blocking quite a lot of my outs. Luckily he had only one club.

This hand was nice one versus overly aggro looking villain. Went for x-c on flop which is perhaps also theory wise good. My hand doesnt necessarily benefit much from betting but yeah we usually bet lot with small size in paired flop. That said flop offer some draws that I very rarely have in my range.

Turn gives me nut boat. At this point we can probably go either way but having K is bit bad for blocking KK. More often I would tend to bet half pot but with my read of villain attacking weakness I decided to slowplay. He did think for while on river before folding so maybe actually had something.

Medium sized pot from today day session. Standard iso raise versus limper. Flop is obviously good for my range so I decided to bet my bottom pair and weak fd. Idea was to fold to raise.

Got called and turn villain suddenly pot leads. This is theory wise not really spot where villain should lead ever. Reason is pretty simple as lot of time he should just raise flop with nfd combos and I will almost always cbet those. My hand is most likely just pure bluff catcher but this was bit weird line for the reason mentioned. Of course he can have like K high flush but even then he is repping quite thin. Like is he leading also J or T high flushes? Probably not. I also unblock straight draws mostly which make reasonable no showdown value bluff candidates.

So yeah villain preflop and flop plays are obviously bad. Turn he should just x-f but I would have checked behind. On river he would have had good hand to pot as bluff.

Also one key point is on turn. Just calling to keep villain zero/low equity bluffs in play. Its not that rare to see people shoving in this spot.
