Yeah, you might have lost a little value there, but I think fullpot might seem a little bluffy and induce a shove..

Edit: Actually, looking at stacksizes, that's not true, didn't see how little you guys would have left after that bet.

I reckon 66% or so should be a good bet there, though.

Glad to see your handcoverter working again, it was still acting up for me when I was trying it, and couldn't really find any good alternative. Maybe they were just doing some changes and sorted it themselves?

Regards,
Richard

No the hand converter is not working. I have to edit each one in order for it to make sense. Also some times i have to write it out manually to get it to work. Doesn't take me long to figure out how things work eh? (canadian vocabulary) ;)

I really wish they would figure out how to fix that. It is very time consuming. :(

Haven't been able to play as much as I like these past weeks as work is super busy and they expect us to put in 11-13 hrs every day. Oh well.
Tomorrow doesn't look good as the family is coming over to celebrate an old guys birthday here. One of these weekends I will be able to play a marathon session.

Hmm, that's troubling..

I haven't been able to make it work with Everest PLO hands when I've tried either, it's quite confusing..

I was thinking the proper bet size in this instance should be a little less the 1/2 the pot, in the $15-$18 range for the following reasons;
1- I am 93% to win at worst no matter what he is holding.
2- He may think he is winning with a king kicker although not likely
3-If he has a king kicker he may semi-bluff and raise the pot by my weak looking bet knowing if I call he still has an out.

This is the way I see it.

The problem of betting $15 into $35 is that he might very well see it for what it is, though..

But yeah, of course, there's a valid point to your line of thinking, it may well work, and induce, and it probably won't be any bigger risk of causing a fold than a psb.

Here, not only did I get outdrawn I paid him off as I put him on a club draw. Unfortunately he had the straight as well.

Fortunately for me there were players in the game who felt sorry for me and made sure I finished the session up regardless of my bad play.

I slowed down and only called the flop, using my positionhoping he would fire
on the turn so I could maximize my win on the hand. He was very co-operative as I think he put me on a draw for my call on the flop.

Couldn't finish the night off without trying again.
I tried to get creative on this hand and I guess it worked.
I was using an old limit holdem trick in which you raise the flop in order to get a free card on the river because it gives you a chance to check on the turn. Also they don't know what kind of hand to give you when you actually hit something.

This was not a very good play on my part. Although I have the nuts on the turn I do not have a redraw. I guess I was lucky a club didn't come and I lost it all but I figured I had to raise to get the guy behind me out. He decided to play for all his chips needing the board to pair which it did. I got stuck between a rock and a hard place on this hand and thought I would post it to show the danger of not having a redraw. the player in first position was free-wheeling a flush draw with the nut straight and got very unlucky the board paired leaving him tied with me and losing the main pot to the other guy.

Not a good day. I had to play in order to get enough points to keep my Gold status. It is the end of the month and I haven't played that much these last 4 weeks it turns out.

Here is a typical hand. As Helmuth says, sometimes you have to dodge bullets. I thought I was winning with my trip 10's after the turn but folded to a river bet when I made my straight as things just didn't feel right. Money saved is money earned.

Nothing spectacular tonight in a short 1/2 hr. session of 3 tables to make sure my gold status is maintained for another month. :)

One hi-lite hand.
The pre-flop raiser I have played before and he is a pretty tight player. For him to raise out of the blind is a good indication he either has AA or 4 high cards. When he checks the flop I bet my set for information. If he calls he is on a straight or flush draw or if he check-raises he most likely would have flopped top set and I would play accordingly. When I got a cold call behind me alarm bells went off telling me he was on a straight or flush draw and since the pre-flop raiser folded I didn't need to worry about him any more.
I bet the pot on the turn to punish the draw and then bet the rest on the river hoping he could/would call with 2 pair if he backed into it. Unfortunately he didn't and folded.

This first hand is self explanitory.
The only thing I did differently was to be less then 1/2 the pot after the flop hoping someone would come along for the ride as there really isn't to many I'm afraid of after the flop outside of an off-suit straight card coming, and even if one does come I will have about 19 cards on a re-draw. Fortunately whitemarble liked his draw and came along.

I just plodded along this morning and didn't get any hands worth posting that I played, however my opponents made a couple of superior pre-flop plays that eliminated me from competing in hands that I would normally have played except for their re-raises. Had my opponent not re-raised pre-flop this hand to eliminate me I was going to call the all-in by alfine090654. I would have won a good sized pot as the river completes my full-house and LangeGeeps flush. A tip of that hat to LangeGeep in this hand for the way he played pre-flop.

ARG The very first hand this session and I river a full-house only to lose to quads. What a way to start. Down $25. I'm not sure myre-raise on the river is correct but that is the way I play, try to extract the max value every hand. Also you will notice I did not raise with my Aces out of the BB even though they are suited as if you miss or get a dangerous board you do not have a continuation bet because of your position. Others play differently. I think this is a matter a taste and how the game is going.

FN disaster today.
Moved up to bring in $50 this morning. That was the first of many bad ideas today.
Here I think I fell asleep and was just pushing buttons. I really should have folded to his raise on the turn but some days we are the masters of our own misfortune.

I almost folded this hand to the raise but with everyone in before me it dawned on me that the hand plays the exact same way without the raise only more expensively so I had to call the pre-flop raise.
This was the only hand worth mentioning over this short session.
At least we are now going in the right direction after that disaster I had on Sunday.

Got to play for 1/2 an hour tonight. Played 20 hands and continued my grind to get back to where I was at the start of the month.
Nothing special happened but at least my opponent on this hand tried to bluff out of position. A small win to get me closer to even for the month after the disaster that was last Sunday.

Sorry for my tardiness but I have been very busy the last 2 weeks.
I took $100 from my Everest account and put into my account at pokerstars. Unfortunately my account at stars is not tracked by pokerstrategy as I had this account long before ever joining here. I did this for a couple of reasons.
1- So I could play in the 85 billionth hand promotion. I was never at a table that hit one of the millionth hands.
2-I was tired of playing Omaha Hi and needed a break and Everest being a smaller site only has NL Holdem and PL Omaha Hi
3-My love of limit far exceeds that of any NL or PL game. I cut my teeth on limit games, they are what I know best, they are what I enjoy playing more then anything.
I started there playing 8 game but switched to Limit Omaha Hi-Low after getting beat up a couple days in a row.I was playing .50-$1 stakes but with only $60 left of my $100 that I transfered those stakes were more then sufficient.
After 2 weeks of playing at stars and cashing in my points I now stand at $250.

Ok now for an Everest Update.
Albert Einstein once said "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the defination of insanity"
If this is true then I figure I'm certifiably.

HINDSIGHT--Day 2 of the $10,000 buy-in WPT Fallsview poker classic in Niagra Falls ON in 2007. Blinds are 500-1,000 and I have 40,000 in chips. I am under the gun with pocket QUEENS and run into pocket ACES. We get it all in pre-flop and just for good measure an ACE flops. Dumb me as the money bubble was in day 3. Massively overplayed by me.

SUNDAY-- 243 prople left in the pokerstrategy $10,000 freroll (I know quite a difference from where I used to be but I digress) 1150 runners and it pays 200 spots. Blinds are 500-1,000 and I have 14,000 in chips. I am under the gun and pick up pocket QUEENS. I say to myself if either blind re-raises then I have to fold as I am beat. Everyone folds to the BB who goes all-in and has me covered. Do I listen to myself. NO SIRRI BOB. I call like a stooge and he shows pocket ACES and flops one just to be safe. I am out again just before the money. I think I know what one of my major leaks are now and hopefully I can learn to correct it.
Looking back I played to fast and didn't think things through. If I had just sat back either time I may finally have come to the right decision, insead I played to fast and didn't think. Also my default is set to call. I have to change that. I need to re-set my default to fold in those situations.
I will get back to playing Omaha soon as the promo is over at stars. I will just leave the $250 there and continue on with $558 on Everest.
K

Played like a guppy tonight. Way to impatient for my own good. 3td hand in and I get my stack in on a draw. Oh well.
