Hi,
My name is Maciej. I am long time poker pro, with mediocre success over the long, 10 years+ of "career". I mean I always afforded most of my needs, vacation, comfortable living etc, but nothing more. Over the years I spend a lot of time grinding both online and live. I have to admit, for last years I didn't have much passion for the game. I am getting old now, with not that much of a savings, caught up in a comfort zone of grinding just enough to make a good living, but nothing more. Recently I've decided to change that. Either I'll become very good, playing high stakes or I will just quit, because I have some back up plans, but I feel I don't want to quit poker yet (also it's not easy after playing for so many years, big comfort zone).
So whats my plan now?
It might sound kind of silly, but I believe it's gonna work:
I am gonna play 2-3 tables on KK poker, on a phone, recording some of my sessions and analyzing them after the grind. I am gonna use solvers as tool to analyze my game, than figure out the exploits by myself.
Are you stupid? GTO and solver on the softest possible site on the internet?
Well, Over the years I've watched hundreds of hours of instructional videos, and nowadays I believe solver programs are the best way for me to learn the game. Also when you know the baseline strategy and how a hand should be played from theoretical standpoint, Its easier for you to see what kind of mistakes weak players do, how they deviate, and than exploit them.
My long term goal is to crush highest stakes on that mobile platform (which is 1k and sometimes 2k NL). Be the best of the worst ![]()
BM?
Classic aggro bm, 20 bi per limit, Starting with 2k$ on nl100, moving up when I make 20 buyins, moving back down when Im on 18. Got bankroll for higher stakes, but didnt grind online for quite some time, so I am better of starting on nl100 and see how it goes.
Schedule?
I will be aiming to grind for 7h a day, plus analyze the recordings for at least 1,5h. Than at 6 pm I will be trying to cut off completely from work, relax, meet friends, GF, workout, etc
I have to admit cutting off from poker, leaving work at work was the biggest struggle for me, especially when variance was tough, It had a big impact on my everyday live. So this is the biggest challenge for me. Will see how it goes this time, when my mindset is set strictly on improving, not on money.
I am also open for strategy discussions, discord calls, so pm me If you are interested and If we both can learn from each other, it would be nice.
I ill be trying to post about my struggles, improvements, ups and downs at least once a week. Also it's first time in my life that I am blogging in English so please be understanding.
Cheers!
VS
