September was not a profitable month playing SNGs. I have played a little more volume than August but have not been studying enough.
I have had a few coachings that really help but my inability to retain information (more commonly known as "thick as shit") does not help my progression.
It does appear that Augusts results did reflect a period of run good and I definately felt that I ran pretty bad during long periods in September. I am however aware that my ability is probably the reason for my overall bad result.
Still it is not a super bad losing month:
I am going to study more and continue to play the $7 6 max's.
Goals for October (Online):
Study more
Play 250 SNGs (not in a hurry to get in anymore volume at the moment as I need to improve my play considerably)
Work on my red line
Live events.
I am playing another 25/25 series £220 bi event this weekend. I won this bi online last month so fingers crossed for another deep run.
I may play other events but non planned as I have a busy social calendar also coming up!
In other news, my holiday to Malta was really good. I ate loads and drank too much resulting in a terribly upset stomach which I am just hopefully getting over.
Malta really impressed me as the people are so friendly. Loads of interesting history and easy to get around with some cracking little restaurants It must be one of the only countries that actually likes the English. I also found out that there are many online gamers/poker players that live there due to them not having to pay taxes. I did not enter the casino but did check out The Battle of Malta poker tourney online that was literally 300 yards from my appartment. There were many big names playing (Dan Cates being one of em) and it broke it's own record attracting 800+ entries, so that would be a nice place to win a package to next year!
I also attended the Malta airshow where I was lucky enough to see The Red Arrows. This is a British Airforce display team that travels the globe doing well, displays. I was very impressed by these guys who made me feel proud to be British! Amazingly, 9 hawk jets flying at 800 MPH just a few meters apart. Pretty sure they are all over you tube if anyone is interested.
I also have to redecorate the office this month, I have a new desk and filing system that will help to keep my shit in a better order instead of scraps of paper with regs names on and hands I need to review. So disorganised.
So, in all a decent month all round really, can't really complain. I know what I have to do so will work on doing it

I'd rather start off losing and then getting back up to break even than start off winning massively and ending up break even, if that's worth anything (though of course I'd prefer to start off winning and end up winning even bigger)

Yeah there's plenty of videos of the red arrows from what I saw. Took a quick look at one of them and that looks pretty cool. Would be awesome to see such a show sometime, and I can imagine it was quite a spectacle to see them performing live!

Day 2 alert!
I've managed to make Day 2 of my 25/25 series event. There's around 80 left out of 270 and I have 96k. I think I am just above average chips.
Played okay yesterday despite being ill all week and doing an 8 hour shift at work followed by 8 on the felt for a 4am finish! I played okay I suppose but my reasoning in so many hands must improve.
I just woke up and feel pretty good. Felt relaxed yesterday even with a tough table draw. Had 3 very capable players to my left so hoping for a favourable table draw today. Back at 1pm.
I think they will pay around 30 and will be about 13k FTW.

So this weekend saw me play a decent little tourney.
I managed to get 21st of 270 to earn myself £410 which as we all know is very good but we always feel disappointed to come so close especially when it is 15k FTW.
My demise came after calling down (30% of my stack) with 7's to Mr. Aggro only to find he had hit a 9 with his 96o. I also lost another with 7's to 8's when I played the hand terribly. I then got my last 8 bigs in with 7's (believe it or not) and doubled up. I was soon left with around 11 bigs and sat patient for a while maintaining my stack. We were then down to 7 handed and I looked down at A10o UTG. I had that feeling that you get when you know this is probably it, but I can't fold this with 11 bigs, can I?
7 handed I guess this is a standard shove? So I shove. The reason I don't like it is because this is the first time in 13 hours of play that I have really put my life in the hands of 'The Gods'! And low and behold "I call" (snap) is the cry from UTG+1 (a fairly tight player, GULP). We spin em over and I see the bad news, KK! No miracle ace and I'm not actually out, I'm left with half an ante 800 chips. Blinds at 12000/6000/1500. No fairy story I'm afraid, that was it.
I guess that with 28.5k already in the middle with blinds and antes I have to shove here but I hated it TBH.
Onwards and upwards and £385 profit as I qualified online. Not sure when my next live encounter is as I am very busy running up until Christmas now 
My online game hasn't even started yet this month. I aren't in a rush to get started as I want to put the emphasis more on study for the next few weeks.
I see guys making very good plays/ calls and think to myself, wow I got that totally wrong! I also see guys discussing hands and stuff on this forum and am totally impressed with their reasonings. So, I just want to concentrate on making good poker decisions. I think sometimes I get blinded by getting in volume when my play just isn't up to scratch.
To revise my monthly plan. 250 SNGs is not important for now. The plan for the month is to study, learn, absorb (not likely) and sort my office out!

I think I got my rungood back about the time you got AT. Sorry it didn't stay with you for at least one more hand.
And you are right. You can get blinded by volume. It's hard to make reads or take notes on a player if you're multi-tabling. At the start of 2012 I decided to become a Stud8 cash grinder, So for a month I ground out 4 tabling for 12-16 hours a day (I was really keen in those days).
What I found was that it was very difficult to recognise the fish. After god knows how many thousands of hands, I had no significant reads on my opponents even though I was playing against some of them for several hours a day. As a consequence my game eventually fell apart and I had to quit that plan and move onto something else.
My solution was to go back to single tabling and training myself to notice every action and to at least make a mental note of any strange plays. Almost 2 years later I rarely play more than 2 tables at a time (except NLHE 45 man SnGs, I will 4 table).
Part of your poker learning must include notetaking on players and being able to monitor as many actions from as many tables as you can. Soon you'll have enough notes on enough regs to not worry about them so much. I always colour code my notes (RED is danger), PINK is fish, YELLOW is passive calling station, etc

I agree totally. I also colour code and find it very helpful, especially when selecting tables. Sooo many regs out there!!
I just played 1 SNG as it happens and was able to make a big hero call which I'd never have done when multi tabling. Won the pot and the SNG too

So it's that time again. End of the month stuff to go over!
Not a terribly good month but some good live action for a tidy profit which keeps my live BR still looking very healthy. I also managed to sat into ANOTHER one of my favourite tournies in the north west, the 25/25 series. Not sure if I'll get a chance to use my token this year but hopefully I may be able to squeeze it in at the end of November which is held at my local Bolton G casino.
The new office is a work in progress and the new desk is up but the computer is still on the old one and awaits my attention in the morning. I just wanted to finish the month before I cocked it up, never to work again!!
Online things haven't gone too well, but I can't really complain. I had originally planned to put in volume of around 250 SNGs but as my month didn't even start until well into the second week I decided I would take it easy. My reasoning for this was because after my live tournament I realised that my overall poker decision making was not up to scratch and still isn't. I realise that decisions between SNG and MTT play can be very different and that SNG grinding is not that good for MTT deepstacked play. I may take a look again at cash FR in the future to help with this side of my game but I am quite enjoying SNGs for the time being TBH. But I do feel that even in SNGs my play is still very weak in many situations.
So I have been doing some studies. Not as much as I would like to but at least trying to brush up on my game. Basically not just trying to kill the volume just for volume's sake. I am still learning so must concentrate on this.
I decided to take a break from coaching with Tim64 as I felt that I could still learn a lot myself and want to get in 1000 SNGs to see where I am at until I call on his services again. Although he is now doing some U tube vids so I could just get these for free 
For anyone wishing to improve their game this guy is a great investment and a top guy IMO. Maybe one day we will be battling it out at the nosebleeds??

I think I may finally have steadied my red line too, at least it doesn't indicate I am a lucky sod anymore!! Which is obviously what I was when I was winning
For November I plan to do much of the same. Not too bothered about massive volume although I suspect I will play a bit more than October. Also to do more studying, range work mostly.

Nice post. Just keep on plodding until all the pieces fall into place. As long as you are in a learning phase and not actually losing then the future looks pretty bright.
