Agree , Straddle spoils PLO-6. Many aggros use mini-straddle and get BB. Some of those straddle to 8bb, 3bet against raisers or limpers and call 4bet and game is over on flop.

Have you tried next level ? My feeling is that 2/5c much more pleasant to play than 1/2c.

I did. Game was pretty much the same, but dealer changed.

Got 10 buyins up today, and then in the last hour dropped 35 buyins under EV. Still +EV, but in reality lost quite a lot. Just couldn't win any 50/50 flips and opponents hitting 4 outers constantly. One table was super good, there was one 16bb straddler and one calling station who called that or any preflop raise 100% of times. When we were deep, I thought the hand I had been waiting happened. Flopped A set and nut flush draw, but lost to a gutshot. 3 outer...

Another sick session. Focused on playing small ball, grind back from the hole slowly but steadily. Worked well, except 6 hands in the session. 4 times got premium AA versus crappy AA, lost all. Once 300bb deep gpt 3way allin, my topset+nfd vs dry middle set and bottom wrap, no fd. Wrap won. Then 300bb deep my huge draw on the flop versus naked set, almost 60/40 on the flop for me but missed all my outs.

The 900bb pot was real showcase how reg doesn't care about math. Super high SPR, and two big stacks want to get it in on K65ss flop. Isn't that quite obvious that what ever they have, you dry 432xxx is not in good shape? When the price is high, rationality drops.

Probably should be happy that despite those, the session was breakeven. Seems like a huge win for me.

More known cards also can change the equities. In normal PLO, set+fd vs naked straight is 40% on the turn. In 6 card PLO it's 45%, if neither blocks board of flush cards. On the flop it's 65/35 in favor of set+fd. I had a stiaution today where I had the top set (nuts) on the turn and opponent had a draw. His draw was 60% favorite on the turn. In this game naked straights and sets are deceiving, it's all about draws and abckup equity for those sets and straights.

Are you 4-tabling PLO-6? How many hours you played when got over 1000 LB-points? I checked that gurrent top 4 in LB are playing both, PLO-5 and PLO-6 same time, 8-tabling both when possible. They must have supercomputers in their heads to be able to do that... Leaderboard is common for PLO-5 and PLO-6.

I managed to win one of the leaderboards just by 6-7 tabling. I got over 2k points and I couldn't have done much more without losing focus. 250 hands was about 100 points.

Normally I am 6 tabling, as with laptop screen 8 tables would be too small. Some regs are 8 tabling. I think that if they are playing PLO2 or PLO5 (stakes), their multitabling skills are not super high. They just play their tight standard game, and won't adjust to anything.

Leaderboards are killing 6PLO too. Yesterday checked the 6PLO5 pool, and almost 90% of the players were 4+ tabling regs. Not all are that good, but still competent enough to lower my edge. In a game where preflop equities run very close, everyone can bet nuts and premium draws postflop, it's hard to gain big edge. Rake comes to a big role, as low edge makes it even harder to beat the rake. Without leaderboard money the games would be quite bad, now it adds about 10bb/100 on average. I didn't even know that 5PLO and 6PLO are in the same leaderboard. So without playing both it's really hard to get into top 3.

Why is it that bad run seems to come in stretches? I have had bad run for the whole week in poker, but also in slots bonuses. Good highly +EV spots, but multiple bottom 5% runs kill the EV. Today played a session of normal PLO, and despite good customers I ended up losing significant amount. EV was breakeven, with couple nut boats vs 1 outer quads and couple setups in 3bet pots. On the run side lost allins 4 times with 90% equity on the turn and few 60/40 spots. Had a mix of PLO5, PLO10 and PLO20 tables, and as the script says I had the beats in PLO20 and holds on PLO5. Setups were at PLO10, so something for everyone.

This is the field I am fighting against:

Spoiler

Multiway on the flop, I bet big on the turn and on the river. He is a reg, so he knows the rules. He just wasn't a believer.

Well having KJ43ss from SB should basically never happen in first place so massive holes in this reg preflop side. Only reasonable case for that to vpip would be open raise versus very tight BB.

Lol, what a hand.

Blind vs blind, I am on BB. SB opens, I call, flop is AQJss. Check-check, turn 2r. Check-check, river 3r. Check-check. I have 54xx, and as soon as I check I realize that I had mislooked my hand and didn't valuebet wheel straight. But opponent shows KTxx for nuts, and I can't stop laughing. He flops the nuts, slow plays all 3 streets and I mislook my 2nd nuts and won't even bet it on the river.

Started 7max preflop sim also, let's see if I can make it. For some reason the memory usage estimation is very inaccurate and Monker seems to "leak" memory until computer runs out.

How is PokerTracker showing positions in 7-max PLO? HM3 don't show them correctly. I made ticket to HM3 support 3 weeks ago and they found 2 diffrent bugs influencing and and put them to bug correction queue. One bug correction patch released after that October 29 but without those corrections.

No idea. But in June update PT4 supports iPoker 7max tables, so I would assume the same happens for GG (or has happened). I haven't imported GG hands to PT4 for a loooong time.

Run a sim for 7max, it's pretty much as 6max but you treat UTG as UTG. The sim opens 13,5% from UTG, but in reality that is as good as normal about 15% range. So to simplify it, you treat UTG in 7max as UTG in 6max, and other positions as in normal 6max table.

Have had pretty rough time at the tables. Been losing almost all AA vs AA preflops, and few nuts+redraw to nuts+backdoor redraw. And then these classical "wtf, are the games rigged?!" moments, where people decide to cold 3bet crap like 8842r or 7322r and just flop the nuts. And they are not maniacs, can't help but think if they know something about upcoming flop beforehand. Most likely not, but the thought always crosses my mind.

Had a pretty sick hold in the flip tournament though:

T6 for the win!

New year, same stuff.

December was quite good in poker. Played around 20 sessions, 18 of those were profitable ones. 2025 has been a bit rougher so far, people hitting low equities on the river. Which is inevitable and good thing. When they call big bets with gutshots you know you are making money in the long run. I activated myself at KKpoker too for the end of the year stream. Normal PLO is not really running, but 5 card and funny Bomb version of it is running a bit. The Bomb table is where ante is randomised between 1-6bb or so. And game starts from the flop, and there are two boards. The most fun thing is that there is no set strategy how to play the game, and I would say it's not that easy to figure out how to play it (unless you want to gamble). I have some thoughts, and though about playing it in the next Primetime. So if you are missing the days when we had to think and build strategy ourselves, join the next Primetime and do it with us!

Here I thought that opponent called me with air, but after all there was logic behind it:

Spoiler

3way, flop goes checked and I bet 3/4 on the turn. He called with T high, no draw. River goes checked. I missed the 5 first and was quite puzzled with the call. But it seems that he was drawing OESD in his mind.

Couple hands later I bet flop and barreled pairing turn. On a blank river he donked, I called and he had J875 on A646T board. It was not a bluff, he tought he had a straight. And couple hands later he lost his stack to me when I bet flop, turn and river on 32252 board and he raise-shoves the river with 46. He also over called top pairs etc. Conclusion: holdem player who didn't know the rules of PLO.

Profitable session, but still feels shitty. Got money in for few ~400bb pots with 70% equity, lost all of them. About 5 buyuins under EV for one hour session. Actually since Christmas all my poker sessions have been around one hour. I found a good deal for a treadmill, and bought it. Threw chair to the warehouse, so now I have to walk everytime I use my computer at home. As I am a bit overweight, even slow walking for an hour is hard for my supporting muscles. But if I do this 1h walk once or twice a day on most days, it can't be bad for me, right? :f_drink:

Chase of the day:

Spoiler

I 3bet from SB and BB cold calls. Multiway flop, pot is 55bb. I bet pot, he calls and everyone else folds. On the turn he has 37bb behind and he calls my shove. He is not drawing totally dead on the flop, he still has runner runner boats. Flop call is quite wild, as I pot into 4 other players.

Another shitty session. Once again got stacks in versus one tilting aggro over and over againt with 70%+ equity. He just happened to hit most rivers. And of course the very typical spot where I get to 4bet most of my stack, he calls with random hand and spikes nutty hit on the flop. When someone runs really hot, it screws your brain. Going all-in with a top set is not "wohoo!" in your brain, it's more like "I know this is +EV, but lets see how he sucks out this time...". And then running hot, they do suckout.

Positive thing is that he players is a regular face, so when he gets one big winning day he keeps playing probably for many many sessions.

After some shitty sessions today was non-shitty:

Spoiler

Bought a cabin for week 7, which is Super Bowl weekend and next week. My tradition, a cabin for just me for a week. I can play poker, CS2 and enjoy Super Bowl all by myself (and two dogs)!

Going to make a bankroll challenge for that week, plan is to make enough money to pay for the cabin and food/drinks from poker and Super Bowl bets.

Sounds nice man, chilling with your dogs in a cabin, playing some poker and watching the super bowl.
Very manly way to take a break from the daily goings haha.

Will that include a daily barbecue, with some nice meat for dinner?
An will you stream a session on your Twitch channel?

Also, don't forget to share your tips on potential +EV Super Bowl bets! :f_biggrin:

Keep up the non-shitty sessions! :f_drink:

I haven't used my own Twitch channel for years. I probably do a Primetime at Friday/Saturday, and talk about Super Bowl during it (if someone listens).

There is no grill in the cabin (and it's winter), but there is kitchen and I might try my electrical smokener, which I got few years ago. Never used it so far.

Super Bowl approaching!

At Friday I pack my car, take our two dogs with me and head to a nice cabin for a Super Bowl week. Pokerwise (and sports betting) the goal is to make enough profit to cover the cabin cost, and if running hot then food&drinks too. Funny thing though, I think the cabin is cheaper than my food&drinks for one week.

I am thinking about going for GG leaderboard for 1-2 days. At PLO10, that would be $140 per day from leaderboard. Cabin cost is a bit under 250, food&drink most likely around 250-300.

It might be possible that I do Feb Primetime at Super Bowl weekend, Saturday evening. Not sure yet, will let you all know as soon as it is decided. If that happens, there will be everything you need to know about betting for Super Bowl too.

One thing that crossed my mind today as I played at GG. There has been confirmed "super users" who got to see their equity on upcoming streets. Weirdly that was possible due to poor security on "thumbs up/down" feature on the table. GG has said that they fixed it. But still a bit too often I see really weird plays and all-ins from opponents, and they hit the miracle cards and runouts. I would love to say that I trust GG, but among all game providers I trust GG security the least. Therefore I am happy to use cashout, even as it costs a bit. But it gives me more piece of mind, which is definitely worth the small price.
