A tricky hand from last night...only had 14 hands on villian 36/0/3bet vpip/pfr/3bet.

I felt with my tight table image that for villian to come all the way to the river with me he has hit a fairly big hand on this board, but he checked the river, i decided to check the river to save money if I was behind and also save me getting check/raised and I wanted to have a look at what he was calling me with!! what do you think of my play here?

Can't see the point chk behind riv here, it's a total blank.
Could maybe have chkd behind turn instead for pot control if concerned and give up to bad river, but maybe call a bet if not too big on safe card, if you're curious to know. I can't see the purpose the turn bet has unless you want to go with it, then bet harder.

So it's: raise pre -> cbet $3 -> chk bhd turn -> evaluate riv, for me. Or just bet harder turn and go with it on a blank.

Let's see how far off I am this time! ♦

I only had 14 hands on villian but I felt this flop would hit his range KQ,JT type hands, so raised bigger on flop to stop him coming with me to the turn with draws. I was going to give up flop to reraise. i did not think the turn was too bad a card for me but I was concerned he may have hit so decided to bet smaller to see what the river brought ( I feel I should have bet bigger here!!) He called my bet so i was feeling like I was maybe getting trapped and trying to induce me to bet out on the river. I also felt he could have two pair or Qx type hand and was maybe worried I had hit big with that flop, I dont think he was folding though no matter what!!!

Seems a very complicated thought process v an unknown.
