Spent about an hour to an hour and a half going over the charts today, want to make sure that i am doing my homework. Felt good to have a refresher course, reading up on some articles, and then i decided to play some cards. Was kind of hoping to play in a tournament today but none of them caught my attention, always find it difficult to find a tournament on Party Poker, usually a little to expensive right now, would cost to much of a percentage of my BR, maybe tomorrow.
So i ended up playing 4 tables today for about 4-4.5h, went much better, was playing my B+ game, made a few obvious mistakes but for the most part played well. So here are the stats for today:

Didn't get a chance to play a whole bunch today, but i did get in about a half hour of study, did pretty much what i did yesterday. Read over some notes and just found out i can actually check out individual players stats on the Elephant program so i did that, keep finding out more stuff, love that program.

Completely lost my attitude today, just couldn't seem to keep my focus up and paid for it at the F%^%in tables. One player just was able to get under my skin, he played 91% of his hands and just seemed to get the better of me every F*&^In time. Should know better, could have had something to do with me not going over my notes today, and not really feeling it.

Well just finished another day grinding out my piece of the pie. Was able to keep my attitude, don't know why i lost it twice in the last couple of days, sure gets costly on the tables.
Started my new consecutive win streak, have to start somewhere----1
Need to do some more reading and post a few more hands, don't get enough of them checked out, could always use the extra help.

Done for another day, and the winning streak is now at 2 days.
Played in 2 step tournaments today, lost one and placed 2nd in the other, so now i am ready to move up the ladder to the $10 game, lets see how far i can get. I do intend to play a few more of these as i think my game is good enough that the payout when i reach the final limit will be worth more than i intend to put into it. Guess i will see.
I also played in a $3 sit n go and finished 1st and that paid out $12 so i figured i would use that towards my step tournament.
Had a fairly decent day for the amount i played, only played 2 tables at the most and went down to 1 table when i was in the sit n gos, it certainly helps me focus on the players and i like to think i was able to take advantage of their playing styles more because of only playing 1 other table, but the amount of hands i played today did suffer as well.

Nice progress so far- I would just advise you to be conservative with tournament buy-ins. As a rule of thumb you should actually have a ~100 buyin BR for MTTs so even the $22 buy-ins you played at the beginning were way too expensive.

All-in all though if you stick to BRM & continue posting hands I have a good feeling on your continuing your move up

Thanks for checking up on my blog SoyCD. I haven't read up on the MTT strategies yet, thanks for the information. I think i should definitely read up on them as i wasn't very successful with them today. Don't think that i played bad, just some unlucky breaks, in my opinion but i am sure most people believe when they lose, it really is just a bad beat.
So the winning streak ended at 2 days, i have noticed that i am losing my attitude alot faster then usual, need to spend a day doing just some reviews and posting some hands and find my comfort zone again.

So here are the stats for today, most of my loses were from MTT and a couple of sit n go's, and i should have know better when i played the step tournament first and was out rather quickly, but he did suck out on me, just one of the days, when a few sucks outs gets me to lose my attitude. Will do better after a day of studying.

Today i spent quite a bit of time going over my hands in Elephant, and posted them on the forum. Should have read the rules on posting first, won't make the same mistakes again, and i really appreciate all the help from the people who read them.
Always makes me feel better when i do some homework, so hopefully i won't make the same mistakes again at the tables.
Didn't play any tournaments today, think i am going to give them a break for awhile until i have read quite a few articles on them, hate losing part of my bankroll without having the advantage of some PS knowledge.
So here are the results for today, would have to say it was definitely an upswing day, always easier to write when the day goes well.

The grind of another day. Today i decided to go about it a little different, i posted hands from the day before and then i played for a couple of hours. Now it seemed to work a little better as i had a much better day today then yesterday. Although i did finish with a positive yesterday, $0.33, today was a much better result and i feel as though i did not make as many mistakes, so before i play again i will try this same approach. Will not be until Monday as it is SuperBowl tomorrow and i play in a tournament with friends every yr.

As you can see i have also posted how the month went as well as today, my winning streak is now at 3 days, so i am pretty happy about that. I have also put into place a mandatory $50 withdrawl every 2 weeks, so that after 5months i will have the max to put into PP as a first time deposit, and by that time i am sure i will be at a limit where i will be able to benefit the most from the PSVIP bonus .

February blahs, not starting out so well. I would like to think it is just a down streak but will know for sure after i check out my hands and can look at them objectively. I did check out the hands from the previous day and posted them before i started my session, and was feeling pretty good, but unfortunately things don't always turn out the way you want them.
I have also decided to open an account on Mansion and i am going to either use that for NL or sit n go's. Haven't quite decided yet, and don't have the money in the account yet either so i am going to do some reading and decide from their.

Happy days, just got the $50 for my Mansion account. I still not sure what i am going to do with it, so many choices. I want to make sure i am getting better in all aspects of poker. I did decide to play a couple of sit n go's.
I played the $1+.2 Double up and placed 6th, bummer, and i also played a regular $1+.2 and finished 1st $5 yahoo. Mansion poker account growing already.
I was not able to use the Elephant program for some reason so i will have to do some checking up and fix the problem.
On PP was another grind day, was in the positive but did not exactly tear it up, always tomorrow.
Posted my limit for hand reviews, so i am definitely taking advantage of everything that PS has to offer. Sure is a long road to poker professionalism.

Saywhat - are you a fellow Canuck? Good luck in your quest. I started last May, and it has taken alot of study and hard work. However, I made about $3500 last year and paid for a trip south so it was well worth it, and made my wife less antagonistic towards my new hobby.

My tips as what I would call an intermediate kind of guy - watch the videos, attend the coachings if possible, they are great. Read all the articles, and some of the blogs of the more experienced guys in your game area.

My games of choice are still SSS at NL$50 and SNG at the $22.

For those days you are running bad, I use the strategy of if I lose 3 buy ins, I switch games and or sites. It seems to help me refocus and avoid tilting to the same donks at the same tables.

Hello to 28Brenton, ovechkin91 and SecurityDrew, thanks for taking the time to read my blog, and yes I AM Canadian. Always nice to have the fellow countrymen showing support.
Congradulations SecurityDrew nice little sum of winnings, i hope this year brings even better results.
I do spend alot of time reading the strategy forum and have posted alot of hands, i like to think i am improving everyday and studying is a big part of it. I haven't attended any of the coachings yet, but it is definitely on my goals for future. ♦

I did not post for the last 2 days, had 1 good day and 1 bad day, the good day was just a little bit better than the bad, which makes me happy. I have noticed that i am having a hard time against maniacs that play almost every hand, don't know what it is. I realize that they are going to win hands with some outrageous cards, and they are the players i should be taking advantage of the most, i just seem to have a hard time against them. Patience is the key.
My Mansion account has been frozen, only got to play 2 sit n go's, so i will see what happens with that, hope they don't take all my winnings($2), forgot to take the elephant program off right away, had it on for a few hands but it was all buggy, and then i read the posts that have been posted. It seems they are not big fans of the program.
Today i decided to play a few sit n go's-$3-5 to be exact. Placed 1st and 3rd which paid me $16.80 so i made a profit of $1.80. Happy with the results.
Also played a little PL omaha, that game can get a little crazy, made a couple of dollars their as well. ♦

Did it again, posted this under a new log entry instead of my blog.
February has not been so kind on the FL tables, it seems that whatever decision i make is the wrong one. But i shall persevere. I have played a little NL and that seems to be going a little better. I have also spent quite a bit of time reading up on the sit n go strategies, now i only played about 5 more sit n go's but i find that the blinds go up so quickly it is hard to get the hands that is suggested to open or raise with. Now i haven't exactly got a solid base to form any real good opinions yet, but the 5 more sit n gos i did play did not go so well.

I did manage to squeeze in a $2 MTT, it had 455 participants and i did manage to make it in to the money. I finished 36th which did have a payout of $3.56. I am glad to make the money but am always disappointed that i haven't reached the final 10, next one.

Well here are the stats for the past couple of days, not very impressive.

I don't have my stats for the sit n go's but i do believe i played 5 lost them all, and i played a little Omaha which also did not go well hence the reason my BR is way down from last time i wrote on here.
Really need to just stick to just Holdem and keep my focus.

Finally :P, it has taken me 10 days but i have finally made it into the positives for February, not by much but it is the start of good things. I felt as though i could do no right, but finally have that monkey off my back. I have also figured out why Mansion has put a freeze on my account, it only took them 7 days to tell me. Not happy about that, and when i told them they never told me why it was frozen, they told me, i am being told right now. This could have been solved if they had told me 7 days ago, idiots. It appears that i am a random security check, which in my opinion is bullshit, the money is in the account and then they tell me i can't play until i send them some id. Well i sent it today so it had better get cleared up in the next day or 2, want to get the $100 bonus cleared. Did i mention i think they are idiots.
So all in all things are moving in the right direction. ♦

Things went well today. I am now playing on Mansion, it appears everything is all cleared up, so let's play some poker. I am have decided that i am going to use my Mansion account for NL and sit n go's. Now i have not yet figured out how to download my playing onto the Elephant but i am sure that it won't take long, should have it done by tomorrow. I did manage to play a total of 6 sit n go's. 1 was a MTT-30pl and 5 were regular. I managed to place 2nd in the MTT and finished 1st in 2 of the regular and also 3rd in one.
If only the results were like that everyday. They were only $1 sitngo's but still very happy.
I also managed to play a few hands on PP, very few but the result there was also good. I intend to play for a few hours tomorrow, just didn't have the time today.

Well here are the results from PP, as i have said don't have Elephant set up for Mansion yet.
The stats seem just a little messed up not sure why, pretty sure they are not correct need to do some searching.

Played NL and some sit n go's on Mansion, pretty much broke even on the sit n go's. I played 9 games placed 1st once and 3rd in two of them, find it kind of tough, i do manage to play 4 games at a time but since Mansion only has 1 sit n go at a time on the $1 table that is not a speed table, i usually have to wait until i have finished all 4 games before i start another 4 so it seems to take along time to play only the 9 games that i did. I also managed to play NL as well, didn't play a whole bunch because i am always thinking that the opportunity to make more on my other account is more enticing.
I also took out $50 again as it has been 2 weeks and i want to make sure i am withdrawing $50 every two weeks but it does put me behind the eight ball to try and get to the next level.
I will be getting the buy a bonus soon and i hope that will be my ticket to getting to the .5/1 FL as i have been extremely steady in the department of making money in the .25/.5FL games.
