Today I started a bankroll challenge on GGPoker. On the site I set 300 dollars during a one month period, but since here on Pokerstrategy the minimum is 500 dollars, so here I set 500 dollars for two months. Right now I'm at 202 USD so the goal is 702 by the 1st of September. It's like an end of the summer "race".
The plan is to play mostly holdem cash games starting on NL10 (because I have been playing on this level for a while, and while I am not a big winner on it yet, not a looser either), because I need to focus on my cash game play. But here and there there will be a few 3-5 dollar Tournament as well. Mostly Bounties.
So this is the plan, wish me good luck. :)

Not a good start... I am down a bit. It went well for a while, than in a 5 minute window I had 3 souckouts so I was down 3 buy in, so I called it a night. It is always good to know when to stop it.

I took a few days break, since the first few days were terrible. And as usual, it helped. Yesterday I only played a little, and today the same, but at least both days I was in the black. I think I need to change my daily schedule around and play more when I am more focused and my mind works better, instead of playing long hours at the end of the day when both my mind and body tired.

I have the same problem. I have time to play at the end of the day when the kid is asleep, but after 20-30 minutes I feel like I'm gonna fall asleep while in front of the computer, so I just call it a night. Sometimes I can get a few hours during the day, which has been my biggest source of volume. Most important is that you recognize the problem, so you can act on it. Stay focused and GL at the tables.

thx. I mostly use the materials here... sometimes watch twich channels to see how others think in certain situations, and of course do the hand analisys after sessions

So it seems that this new system of time management is working. Now I "work" (play poker) early in the day and for a limited time only. Usually 1-2 hours, what I decide before I start playing. And after the times up, I quit no matter what. Also, no distractions, no phone during this time. Try 100% focus on the game. In the last 2 days I dig myself out a little bit from the hole I put myself in.

So far so good. The system is working. I play 90min in a row once or twice a day. Also I changed to PLO, it seems that the play style required there are more to my taste and natural behaviour than at NLHE. In the past week I come back from -196 to -39 USD, so that is a good result I think. And according to pokercraft, I am running bad. Also it is only a few thousand hands so far, so not really a good base for statistics. But definitely a good start.

So, the last week, I "worked" really structured on the bankroll challenge. 90 minutes in the morning when I am mentally fresh, sometimes an other 90min session in the afternoon. I used Phil Galfond's system of sticky notes. I have 4 of them with some basic stuff on in on my screen. It helped a lot when the session got a bit emotional. To get me back on track.
This period I played 6000 hands and I am up 40 dollars, and the all in ev is at 60 dollars, so I am running unlucky. And if I am right that is about 7BB/100 hands. So that is not bad.
So for now I am on the right track, even though in overall I am still in the red since the start of the challenge. :)

Congrats on turning things up! PLO is super interesting and always full of action so at least you won't get bored there. I've played a little bit in the past with mixed success and it's definitely one of the formats I wish to improve in. Also I feel like with all the solvers and stuff more recs are turning to PLO, bc it's still a man vs man game (allegedly) and it's super profitable (so I've heard). Will definitely keep a close eye on updates and who knows, maybe I'll give it a go in the future as well.
