more than 80% of flops will bring 1 overcard, more than 50% will bring 2. according to SHC you can only raise 77-88 from late/blinds, regardless of who limps. you will probably get a call from a limper in early/mid position with 9T+ and that puts you in a coinflip situation. any more than 1 caller and your odds decrease dramatically.

I dont think that is true.you raise preflop with 99 and you have 1 caller.if a overcard comes on the flop like a K,if the caller hasnt hit the K he will proberly fold to your cont bet

Hopefully you guys can see the image now. As you can see, I had a really hot run at the beginning before some pretty weird swings followed, due to bad play at first and some bad luck later.

My stats on the different limits is as follows:

I tried to include the analysis of my play from Elephant but it makes it into a pdf and it doesn't seem to post here.

NL10 VPIP 11.7 PFR 6.6 23k hands $126
NL25 VPIP 7.3 PFR 6.7 20k hands $136
NL50 VPIP 7.2 PFR 6.5 4.5k hands -$124

I limped a lot in the small blind at the beginning on the NL10 limit. That would explain the high VPIP on NL10.

Cheers

This week has been a rather quiet one concerning poker. I played about 4.5k hands and made $30 profit. At least I was not running quite as badly as the previous week. It still hurts to go all-in with KK and get three callers and some random guy takes a >$15 pot with QJs. I will try and post more graphs this week in my blog about my stats and total winnings so far. Progress was made in terms of money, but I still make far too many mistakes. In some cases, I know how I should play but still do the opposite, and it's costing me.

I downloaded some mined hands of NL25 on PokerStars and imported them into Elephant. Now I have a decent sample size for the regular players and can assume that the stats are fairly accurate. In one case, I folded JJ after a re-raise from a guy with PFR of 4%. One person called him and he showed KK. I still try to play strictly according to the strategy and rather err on the conservative side. Later, when I have more confidence, I'll start to loosen up against the right opponents. The review session for next week will deal with "Stealing" while playing SSS, and I will try to apply the ideas of the articles in combination with the stats on the opponents to maximize my profit.
Time Management I formatted all my poker articles into word documents and printed them out into a booklet for easy reading. Now I can read them even when I’m away from the computer. I started out by just reading the articles a few times, and then took the quiz. I could remember what hands I should play, while I vaguely remembered something about the positions and about raising pre-flop 4BB+ limpers. I didn't bother to memorize the raise:stack size and how to play the flop. The other articles, such as the psychological ones, I skimmed through and then started playing. At the start I was doing really well and thought "Wow, SSS is the BOMB!" But variance has a funny way… Now I'm reading all the articles again and trying to understand the mathematics behind it all. I'm playing around in Equilator trying to see what my chances are of winning in different situations and against different types of opponents and trying to understand the whole "EV" thing. I'm reading the articles on what attitude you should have in order to play poker successfully and how you should study and evaluate your game as well.

I was wondering how many hours per day one needs to spend to be successful at poker. If you are young, maybe just out of school or a student at University, then you should have more free time than people who are married, working and have children. The friends I've invited to PokerStrategy.com started playing but gave up quickly because it took too much time. I try and play for 2 hours (1,000 hands) per night with about 1-2 hours spent on learning poker, and it still feels like I'm not doing nearly enough. If I spend more than that, then Mrs Termi8r gives me the frown…

Bankroll: $270

Weekly goals:
Play 7,000 hands
Perfect my SSS game: Posting hands, watching videos, reading articles, coaching
Have fun

Cheers

On how many tables at once do you play? 2 hours for 1k hands , I want that too as Party is fast but seems Stars is faster?

Good luck buddy!

I would say he plays 15-18than

On stars you have only 9 players on table so if everything else is same that makes it 10% faster ;)

As far as I know 1000k hands in 2hours on Stars requires a absolute minimum of 9 tables, but you actually need some more...
At least that's my experience, after a long while I found out that playing 6 is much better now, but maybe that depends on the limit you play on ofcourse.

Yeah good observation, I play between 6-8 tables at the moment with a conservative estimate 60 hands per table per hour I get between 360-500 hands per hour. I play maybe 2 hour the one day and maybe more on weekends. At the moment work pressure and travels is getting in the way and I do about 4k-5k hands per week.

Hope it answers the question?

i'm playing 24 tables and my absolute record is 1400 hands p/h, but usually its only around 1k
waiting list cuts a lot

Where do you play lol. 24tables and absolute record 1400 per hour

As Termi8r said approx. is at most sites 60 hands per hour average. I made 1k hands per hour playing 12-14 tables easily.

pokerstars :) on top of that, I play only at fast tables)

Man than you are not playing even 12 tables all the time open one hour.

i doubt it)
but your previous posts don't match.

12 table with 60 average would be 720 hands
+ you clearly can't play them all the hour, due to the waiting time
and if you (as I do) skip the whole orbit if there are 2+ players sitting out, then its will be 500 hands max

but yeah, i actually average around 1.5k per hour, just my sample was 1 session size)

Hi xylere,

Nice blog btw! Long time no update :( If I play two hours with 8 tables then I get about 1000 hands. Sometimes I play 6 tables for about 700 hands in two hours.

Hi Termi8r,
In Gervs blog I read that you were thinking about transferring your BR from PokerStars to PartyPoker to play SSS there. From my personal experience, I find PokerStars alot better and easier to play on. First of all the software is much better, also the auto-rebuy is perfect for SSS and there are more bigstackers on the tables. On Party I'm playing against so many other Shortstackers. Then last but not least, no American players on Party :( :( :(
It may sound silly, but they're a huge source of free money :)
Then again the FPP-reward system on Stars is just great and there are more tables to play on.
I must admit, the level of play on Party is a bit lower than on Stars.

I'm not forcing you to stay or whatsoever, just giving you my (unasked) opinion about this :)
And no matter what you decide to do, I wish you good luck with it :)

its actually closed

@Kuip
If he plays 6-8 tables, then it might make sense to move from stars, but not on party...
Software doesn't really matter when you play so little tables... I would consider ongame/prima/ipoker/any other shitty network with juicy FR games)

Pokerstars is great for multitablers 16+, since it offers ton of games and even if you play a lot of tables, you can still select) + the soft is great, as you mentioned
and to catch US people you have to play 1-7 am GMT+1) so it also doesn't matter for Termi8r.

However, I would better work on multit. skill, rather then move my bankroll. The whole point of SSS is that you have a tiny edge, which you have to project on a huge distance, in order to extract value (profit). Its achievable due to simplicity of the strategy, but you have to play a lot...
20k breakeven stretches/swings are quite typical for sss... I've played 13k hands with 0 profits, but it took me only 2 days...
It means that you have to do your best to maximize number of hands played over your available time, given that you mastered the basics)
In Termi8r case, I would definitely work hard on multitabling, since he is supposed to know basics till now) You can decrease number of tables when you reach nl 100, but for now your goal should be to squeeze as much hands as possible...

the auto-rebuy is perfect for SSS

How does it work? I thought it re-buys full automatically??

Well, at the moment when I join a table, it automatically gives me 20BB. When I lose it all it automatically rebuys to 20BB. I find that extremely comfortable when multitabling!
Not sure how it works, I guess it's just a setting somewhere that I changed a loooong time ago.

Yeah I decided to stay at Stars. There is more tables available and far less SSS-ers around compared to Party. Just grind it out, I will try and increase the number of tables now (Feeling pretty ok with SSS theory) and just stick to SSS basics on NL25.

check ahk scripts for multitabling
absolutely must have:
stars planner - automatically arranges tables in a desired way
urgent table - puts a red border on the most active table and moves mouse pointer there
betpot - hotkeys for desired betting amounts, like 4+1bb preflop and 2/3 on flop

Yes it would be impossible to do it without scripts for me. I did 12 tabling for a while and it was pretty easy to play.

I have those scripts and are using them. Can't seem to get the bet pot script to work so far. At the moment it only works with the mouse scroll button but the 1/2 pot and 2/3 pot bets with other buttons doesn't work. I did try it with the hypersimple theme already. Any suggestions?
