Treat Your Poker Like A Business by LeatherAss might help you decide. Basically, play what gets you some money and of course you can also learn/play other variants. In this case, I think Rush would be really good. But the most important con about it is you don't enjoy playing it.

Like you once told me:"Things have a way of sorting themselves out". :)

Hey vonki, just saw you were thinking of going to Brazil for a year, there is a very good chance that I'll also be there too. ATM can't make up my mind what to do at the end of the year, but it will involve Cuba or Brazil or both....

As for rush, my thoughts are, it is easy, there's no waiting lists or table selection, you just sit in and play, need to take a break, just sit out + come back with the same stack size etc, plus you get a lot of hands in which is good for hourly and you get a decent amount from rakeback.

Boring parts are, it feels more like a grind and you don't get the same dynamic as regular tables. But overall I think it is +ev

@nl50 SH I think a $50 hourly is possible

10BB/100, 1K hands/hour --> 5$/100*1000/100=50$+rb, not impossible imo.

hahah, funny you should mention this... I am actually going to read it for my english class

I was talking to my teacher and she told me to pick a novel, that i need to read and later on make a (oral) report on... I was like well does it have to be a novel? I dont read novels... and she was like well what do you have in mind? so I told her about this book (i read some pages) and she was like ok... well... ok. Then pick that one. Maybe you can interest me too.

As for the RUSH discussion I will comment tomorrow.

you couldn't choose any better :f_love:

@poker being boring: I'm exactly in the same state of mind... It became the source of money only and I really miss the good old days when I was enjoying every minute at the tables (or almost every^^). Actually, it happened to me before and I had to completely stop playing the game I was (FL sh), took 3 or 4 months break (I just couldnt imagine I would play again some other game from the beginning) and then started with NL more or less recreationaly.. It all changed back during our Munich party week though :f_cool:
So, there's nothing you can do to change it IMO.. Just take it as it is and you'll see what future brings (that's what i'm going to do at least).

@ 50/hr, rush 4 tabling you prob play 1200 hands/hr 6 bb/100 = $36/hr + rb which is I would guess $8-9/hr. That's $45/hr.

So 30/hr is definately doable and a very decent salary + BC + Iron Man + having loads of money for cachaça + caipirinha :f_p:

AAAAARRRRH I CANT WAIT TO GET AWAY FROM THIS DAMN SNOWLAND! :evil: :evil: :f_cry:

I had to walk to school and back (which is normally 15-20 minutes walk) and stop by the store... well, it was a walk from hell. It has been snowing quite heavily for the last 2-3 days and even though they removed snow 2 days ago there was 15 cm of fresh snow on all walkingpaths...

It took me about an hour in total I think just walking, it's really so exhausting and frustrating to try to make your way through 15 cm of snow :f_frown: I was so exhausted (not to talk about how my ancles were hurting from balancing my way trying not to fall to the ground too) that I could hardly move forward :f_p:

Gonna make something to eat now and try to get warm... I ended up looking like a snowman, covered in snow so all my clothes (and myself too) got wet and cold :(

Brrr... this day have better turn around.

Rush coaches/sweatpartners needed!

Even though I have never been a fan of rush I have considered it many times because of the volume that is possible and all that. So I have decided to give it another try, and a SERIOUS one!

I tried out NL25 FR yesterday and I ran pretty bad and probably have huge leaks when trying to adjust to the game played. My redline is skydiving pretty much and I ended up losing a grand total of 7 BI's in 5,5k hands even though I folded bottom set and a flush etc to aviod losing money. I did run 2 BI under EV but I still think I have huge leaks and problems adjusting which is making it hard to win.

So what I figured is, I will play NL10 rush FR until I have adjusted properly to aviod losing such big chunks of my BR, and for starters I will mostly play under supervision by others. So that's where you gusy come in!

I would really be up for some sweats, preferably by NL25+ players. Even though you'll probably be the one teaching me to adjust, I might have some tricks up my sleeves aswell ;) It's not like I am completely new to the game! It's always good to explain things in words to others anyway :)

So, if you're playing NL25 rush and above, please let me know if you'd be up for some sweatsessions!

Thanks in advance :)

xoxo
