Great blog, i will be following you. I play the same stakes, was playing NL10 zoom, moved down to nl5 zoom to improve and then attack NL10 again.
TY, sorry you had to move down, I don't wish to know how that's like (always on the edge of dropping down, still holding on to the cliff...)
I tried NL5 rush for the past week, all players seem so tight, I can only manage to play breakeven (which is better than I do on NL10 :f_mad:), but I don't have time to analyze opponents and find spots where I can win some $$$.
Did you play NL10 regular, and do you play FR or SH, because I never played FR (I don't have a clue why :f_confused:).
GL @ the tables, and see you at NL10 soon hopefully
Only 6max tables ♦ I just can't play any other variant of poker ♦ lol, to many people waiting for AA at 9-max tables and no action at all
I was plying up to NL10 SH normal tables at party, then i moved to zoom at stars, was runing super hot first 10k hands (10bb/100), then lost all winings + some more in next 30k so i moved to NL5 recover all my losses and cashout about 20 buying at NL5 just to gain some confident. I didnt use money so it is still on moneybookers if i'll need to deposit back I'll try NL10 at 25 buyins now. I was playing 4 tables at most and that was too much for me, i cut down to 3 tables, everyithing is "quite ok" now

Oh, and really nice hand analysis here!
You are 100% right, I have never played NL2, only a little bit of NL5. As I stated in my first post once I started my "poker career" I played on FTP played 1$ and 2$ SnG, then juped directly to NL10 (on full tilt academy they teach you BRM, but they don't take your money away if you don't follow it). So basically I took a lucky shot at NL10, and was felling ok all the way until they closed FTP.
I think this is great time to explain my poker career and BRM since FTP got closed.
So I already had second chance on PP, and received first aid 100$ on William Hill. Like I already mentioned I like to gamble as well, and on all those other platforms you have casinos together with poker. All in all the money I was losing on poker (only NL10 ) I was wining back trough blackjack and vice versa, also I deposited money won trough PS TaF, and when I cleared what i could of FDB on WH, I decided to transfer my money to 770, since on their web site they had point calculator, and it seemed to me that they give very good RB ratio (few months later they changed their points value policy). Anyway continued to play there NL10, even had shots at NL20 (had a BR of about 300$), tried to keep away from BJ but played video poker (my first gambling love). Was break even for a while then lost about 50$ in one session wanted to quit and then
no need to say i got addicted, even though I posted it in one of the forums here, and everybody told me to quit while I'm ahead, I continued to play and even I got this
With a BR of about 800$ I know everybody thinks I spent it all on video poker but no, I knew my luck at VP can not last forever, but i continued playing NL20, 6 tabling tiled (small tables, no concentration, very good regs...) I think I lasted about a week before my BR was back at about 150$ (oh if I had this brain just a year ago) and spent it on couple of rounds of blackjack and ultimate HoldEm...
BROKE!!!
Deposited what i had left of money on Skrill (moneybookers, whatever you like more) onto Cake Poker and had decent play there, and besides having good RB deal with PS, they had really bad volume and I had to force myself to play when there was action.
After those advantures took some shots at Stars with my own money deposited (I have a rule that all money received from PS, any platform due to TaF, RB, bonuses, whatever... I don't treat as my own money, but as money given to me so I can gamble with it or play poker) so this means I started spending MY money to play poker. Another wake up call:
YOU CAN'T START PLAYING NL10 WHEN YOU DEPOSIT 50$
So that brings us back to restarting of Full Tilt and the money I left there after black friday (not so much around 50$ +50 bonus + DMI) After I finished with those promotions, finally decided to deposit MY money and get FDB, which is keeping me alive still.
So basically I did not spend so much of my own money on poker, but maybe I would have spent even less if I had proper BRM, so now that I play with my own money I will try to keep it alive, because other than this I only have 50$ from TaF and that is it for poker money until June (self promise((wedding) will explain in non poker post).
Soooo, I showed you graphs from yesterday and promised to try to make it somewhat better by the midweek cut, and I was on verge, all until I played a session tonight after the handball game.....
HOW STUPID CAN I REALLY BE, REPEATING SAME MISTAKES OVER AND OVER
Anyway, maybe I will finally learn something from my mistakes.
Ok, very important question:
How to stop playing after -2BI stop loss I am trying to achieve??? Not a single time I was able to stand up from the tables, until it was too late!!!
No time for whining, need to post some hands and graphs:
Just to mention that my shot at NL5 rush is complete, I just don't see any point in playing it, players are so tight, RB is ~0$, don't have time to read opponents nor think (if i ever do so)!
NL5 rush graph
First of all NL5 players are very exploitable you just have to wait good hands to exploit them. I think it would be good for you to step down and grind about 5k hands to be more confident in your game. At the moment I see many leaks and even small corrections would make big differences.
First hand:
FOLD PREFLOP. Really.
Flop: Raise bigger to play HU and preferably get it in with opponents who have TPTK kind of hands and also have FD out there. I would raise to $ 1,50 (MP seems calling station so raising more is probably better).
Turn: Bet more, FD and also GS opened. Bet 3/4 and try to get it in.
River: If you still have two players I think you can't go for thin value
DON'T PLAY A2o IN THIS SPOTS.
Second hand:
Preflop: FOLD TO 3B. If you choose to call, you have to fold to cbet, even this small. You have small sample size but this player doesn't look like some maniac. Won't even comment on your actions after flop.
Third hand:
You should 3b preflop especially since he seems a bit loose. Other than that I would probably go broke here as well. Don't worry about this.
Fourth hand:
Preflop: 3b squeeze to $1,45 or something like this (maybe even more).
The way action went...WHAT? CALL AND CALL AGAIN??
My suggestions would be to think about this before and when you play:
- define your pfr range from every position (from UTG, MP and CO, those ranges should be defined quite well,
bu position is much more fluent and you don't need to define it too much because it changes a lot, depending of the players in the blinds)
- define your calling 3b range (in reality you should more 4b or fold on this limits); by defining I mean playing with equilab to see how bad most of the hands stand in 3b pots, especially OOP
- make a plan for your hand - have in mind future streets, opponent's ranges (not hand or two, define the range), your perceived range (do you have fold equity, can you represent turn/river card)
- don't call c/r with TP kind of hands (think it over)
- be focused, of the game, opponents, action - think, no auto moves allowed
Question you should ask yourself before making any action (call, raise or fold) - is this a +EV move?
I was a bit harsh but it was with good intentions not to discourage you. Good luck!

This is exactly the kind of comments I was expecting, I need opinions like yours, also I appreciate comments like "nice blog", "well written" (those things keep me motivated for posting here), but with a post like this one I can improve my mindset and my game.
Thanx for every word, and for most of things you suggested I have to read some articles about pfr range, 3bet call, and position awareness of course!
So a little bit of non poker stuff, just to clear my mind before starting to grind today...
On the sports side not exactly fabulous couple of days...
Basketball team lost @home against Turkish Galatasaray, poor play but amazing fans cheering as always:
Handball squad did good on first three matches, than yesterday (besides costing me 3BI) lost to Poland even though they were ahead by 5 goals most of the game, but last 10 minutes of the game, they just lost compass:
Now we have to beat yaxkukmians' countrymen to progress to 1/8 finals as first team in the group...
Aussie open after tonight 4 players still in singles, after clash of Serbian lady titans and routine wins of Novak and Janko...
Someone should really explain to Janko how sarma is made... ♦
Besides sports, I have to mention great representation of my country at the headquarters of UN in New York on the celebration of New Year according to Julian calendar
Should i remind you that I performed with these guys on the closing ceremony of handball championship... ♠_cool:

So about the wedding. Like you know from introduction I am a member of a folk dance group http://www.talija.rs/
and this October we were on a US tour from Florida all the way to west coast. So before we went there I planned out a wedding for Mrs and me in Las Vegas, and that's where we got married, among our friends from group, and our families and friends back home had a chance to watch the ceremony trough live broadcast over the internet. So now we have to make a church wedding here in Serbia, and of course a celebration with no less than 400 guests (Serbian tradition ♦ ) So that's planned for June and I am saving as much money for that as I can, so no extra spending on poker or gambling.
Plan to earn extra money from poker for the wedding was never realistic, but being breakeven and learning the game is my main orientation ATM...
Time to grind this weekend out, and celebrate it by making it in the money on miniFTOPS final...
i played hour and a half session and finish -2$...So what to brag about about?
I really focused on my game and my opponents, opened HM just to mark hands for review, didint bother about couple of river coolers, just focused on my game and most important
Wow just wanted to share this video with all the poker buds, although most of you have probably seen it...
Correct me if I'm wrong, you show your bluffs a couple of times on mtts so you could drag someone in a hand when you have the nuts, but why the hell would you bluff call all-in???
I have just started to play cash game for the first time, on ipoker, to see if I can crack it. I am good at micro SNGS and tournaments, but I would also like to conquer cash game as well. All the 2NL full ring tables are very nitty however with low flop percentages on ipoker. Often it is hard to get any action with so much folding going on.
I have played over 8,000 hands and I am just $4 in profit at 2NL. I was $15 in profit after 3,000 hands, playing mainly 6-max 2NL (they seem much softer than full ring) but have since gone on a downswing playing full ring. I did make my initial good run from single tabling only. And I think four-tabling full ring caused me to make a few costly mistakes. This I am sure of.
Anyhow, just to say keep on working at your game, and correcting any leaks you may have. I have already spotted a few of mine, and hope that I have learned my lesson. I stacked off twice yesterday with TPTK on flop, heads up. Only to find out my opponent had trips. I check raised both times on flop, only for them to go all-in, and I called like a....
In future, I will no longer check raise TPTK because if the opponent re-shoves over me, I am more or less pot committed to calling. I think I shall play my cards 'face up' by value betting first, and if the opponent re-raises big I can call or fold. I often check raise TPTK playing SNGS where relative blind stacks are small compared to cash games. But this is why I have started to learn to play cash game.
Good luck with your project and please leave BlackJack alone! That is a major, major leak!!
After writing this post, I decided to single table 6-max again. After a few hundred hands, I am now $11 in profit. I think I shall stick to playing one table at a time. Until I fully master cash game play. I think I started to run before I could walk by multi-tabling. Lesson learned!
Sucked out both, happy with my game in first couple of hours on both tours, still far away from having mindset for long tours... So back to cash micros...
Gonna do a weekend review tommorow, nothing especially new on the NL10 stage... I'am still a big

Every lesson you learn on micros, is not too expensive if you don't repeat it very often in the future (because you will repeat them, trust me :f_biggrin:)
River: ($11.10) J (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $5.10, Hero raises to $10.20, MP calls $4.60 all in
Final Pot: $30.50
MP mucks 6 5
Hero shows T 9
Hero wins $28.50
(Rake: $2.00)
Anyhow, I didn't play Saturday at all, had some other plans, but I spent some time analyzing my game on HEM2... I realized that my game is not that terrible but I have one huge leak for this level:
Spoiler
Just look at the hands with what I shove on the turn:
Spoiler
If I had not played on January 16th, I would have been a millionaire by now... ♦
So weekend NL10 graph
So I've spent ~50$ on MTTs yesterday, remember those 50$ from TaF I was wondering what to do with them, GONE
Anyway, I can see some elements of improvement, but I need a larger sample to prove that...
So weekend cuts:
BR: 242$
NL10 stats: 19/15 -6.82bb/100 over 2.159 hands
BR like @ the beginning of this blog, could be better, could be worse, bonuses are keeping me alive on NL10, but once the bonuses are gone, if I don't improve my game, I won't be able to survive this level...
h1: f turn to 3b, seeing his stats i dont see him 3betting any worse hand ever
h2: if he wasnt such a maniac postflop (although small smaple), i prefer making a
tight fold to a raise on the flop, he is just never gonna show up with worse than
2p here, and if by some miracle he plays AQ like this 1/50 times, then
whatever
but again, sice he is so aggro, i might stackoff as well, although 95% of the time
you will be crushed here against any other opponent
h3: bet flop bigger, ott no worse will ever bet here if u check, maybe some KJ for whatever reason, but from his AF i doubt that, + its just such a small part of his range, sice u block 1/2 combos, so c/f turn, wp
h4: just fold preflop, he seems stupid enough to call any garbage hands vs 3b, especially IP and against such a small sizing, as played, i would usually b/f flop, b/f turn and bet river, but again, the problem starts with your small PF 3b OOP
i read your blog and overall i think you overvaluate a lot of marginal hands and stack off pretty light, so try and work on that
Hi Serbian neighbor(I'm from the Bulgarian community), I would like to share my thoughts on the hands:)
h1: folding preflop with A9o against tight opponent is better imo. He has many better Ax hands in his range and it is very possible on A high board hero to be with dominated hand.
h2: I prefer to 3bet bigger OOP and especially against calling station. I would not fold on the flop either.
h3: Also 3bet bigger preflop. Bet like 1.30 on the flop. Fold on the turn is fine imo.
h4: I don't think bluffing such opponent preflop would work enough often to be profitable. The size of the 3bet is too small. Just 3bet him with your standard 3bet size.
Thank you both guys for analyzing my hands, it really means a lot, and will hopefully improve my game in the future...
I think Zumpar said a crucial thing
i read your blog and overall i think you overvaluate a lot of marginal hands and stack off pretty light
I will definitely work on that...
Ok now for some off poker stuff...
A lot of sports stuff went on this weekend, but sadly not much success...
Basketball team losing by 1 ball @Igokea (Championship leaders, and probably winners, sadly)
Handball squad just keep beating themselves, and letting their opponents win, which led them to 1/8 finals match against hosts Spanish tonight (God be with them)
After excellent opening of Aussie open, and being the most successful nation on the tour on Saturday, all the players in single matches, except Djokovic, lost their 1/8 finals matches...
Can it get better than this, after 5 hours of play??? ♦♦♦
I almost forgot, to quote myself:
so this can be good time to make a pause in drinking all night, and have a few weeks of healthy life (I will probably laugh at this post in a few weeks grin )! Anyway getting back to Insanity after 20 days break, so thats also healthy.
So no drinks for me for 7 straight days now (more than enough), and started Insanity program again today... that calls for a celebration, one more session, and I'm off to have a few drinks in local "kafana", and watch handball...
Hello fellow grinders, time for a midweek update...
I played a decent amount of hands, but skipped Tuesday due to some real life duties.
Anyway, there were a lot of marked hands on my HeM, but there weren't many stupid mistakes, still some same leaks repeating, but generally improving my game...
You are calling too much in spots where you either fold or raise. As the hand where you flopped top set, instead of raising UTG bet, you just called. You are floating very often with too marginal hands, which you should not do.
When you hit top pair on the flop and don't have the initiative you will most likely lose a lot of money when you float. Especially if villain is barreling all streets you are behind the vast majority of times.
To sum up your play I have seen in couple of hands you posted here, I am pretty sure that you lose value in some hands where you shouldn't and giving too much away instead of giving up and move on.
