Deception is a broad term for all sorts of tricks used to fool an opponent into believing something untrue, or into making an incorrect move based on a false pretence. A move made for deception has the intention of confusing your opponents regarding the strength or type of your hand.

Deceptive play describes this kind of move. Deceptive play can involve bluffing, semi-bluffing, slow play and advertising moves.
