League of Champions: arem Wins First Match Day
Yesterday the PokerStrategy.com League of Champions opened its tables. Together with PartyPoker we are bringing you 18 match days of first class poker. The winners of the first freeroll have now been decided.
31 community representatives competed for several hours before arem emerged as the winner of the multi-table tournament.
He receives 15 points for his win, the maximum number of points attainable, and enters round 2 as the ranking leader.
Not far behind is maxippouce, who came in a close second after arem defeated him heads-up.
TwiceT hits the rails early on
Unfortunately for the English community, our representative twicet busted out early and was not able to obtain ranking points on day one.
Czech player pokericek, who is also a pretty active part of our community, got a little bit further but didn't make it into the top 12 either. Coming 13th, he unfortunately just missed the points by one place. That leaves both English players going into match day two with 0 ranking points.
However, there still another 17 match days before the rankings close and the five play-off participants can qualify.

JagoMars wins the first $500 freeroll
To get you in the mood for the tournament, PartyPoker and PokerStrategy.com are hosting a $500 freeroll on each match day, starting one hour before the PokerStrategy.com League of Champions' MTT kicks off. These freerolls are open to all PokerStrategists.
