WSOP final tables to be real name only

We will know who wins bracelets this summer as GGPoker continue the trend of real name tournaments for bracelet events.

While we wait for the GGPoker WSOP schedule, which we have a feeling will be out tomorrow, we have more news on this unique online festival. 

Earlier this month we brought you news that high stakes tables at GGPoker would be real name only, continuing a trend started at partypoker which is becoming very popular since the live poker lockdown. 

Now pokerfuse are reporting that the WSOP festival, which starts on July 19, will show real names at the final tables. The rest of each tournament will display nicknames until a final table is formed. 

The lockdown has seen the biggest blending of live and online poker we have probably ever had. It does seem natural (and will make it much easier to report on) to ensure we know the names of the players who win bracelets during this festival. Bracelets are, after all, a rich part of poker history. 

No word yet on whether this same practice will happen at WSOP.com where bracelet events will take place for US customers.
