Huge bad beat (in a bad beat jackpot)

Quad Jacks was accidentally folded against a Royal Flush, resulting in nobody sharing a $126k bad beat jackpot.

A couple of times a year we report on a big bad beat jackpot being won somewhere when it's for a big amount. It's always fun to report on mega hand clashes resulting in riches for all the players sitting at the table. 

This week, however, there was a bad beat in the truest sense of the word in one of them. 

As reported by the Bluff Catchers facebook page a player lost with Quad Jacks to a Royal Flush. A hand eligible for them and their tablemates to share a $126,266 jackpot at the Encore Poker Room in Boston.  

However, it has been reported that while the player was holding his losing hand in stunned disbelief, the dealer took his cards and mucked them as he appeared to make a folding motion. The player in question was relatively new and perhaps unaware of the jackpot rules. 

After a review by the floor staff, no bad beat was ruled. Normally the player with the mucked Quad Jacks would have won half the jackpot, so around $63,133, the player with the Royal Flush would have won $31,566, and the rest of the table/cardroom would have shared the remainder.
