2009 Foxwoods Poker Classic Kicks Off
The 2009 Foxwoods Poker Classic tournament series began yesterday with the $300 No Limit Hold'em Shootout event. Most of the tournaments on the schedule will feature No Limit Hold'em, with the main event being the $10,000 WPT Championship.
The 2009 Foxwoods Poker Classic tournament series kicked off yesterday at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut with the first of 15 events on the schedule.
Even though most of the events will be No Limit Hold'em, there will also be one Seven-card Stud event, one shootout event and a ladies' event.
The tournament series will end with the $10,000 World Poker Tour Championship event running from April 3 to April 8. Players will begin with stacks of 30,000 chips in the tournament and levels will be lasting for 90 minutes each. Mega-satellites will take place on March 26, April 1 and April 2.
Last year's Foxwoods Poker Classic Championship event saw Erik Seidel (picture left) coming on top of 346 entries, thus winning $992,890. Another notable at the final table was Ted Forrest, who finished in 6th place, who managed to earn $103,360 for his feat.
