EPT Barcelona: Two PokerStrategists in Top 10 After Day 1A

At the conclusion of Day 1A of the PokerStars EPT Barcelona, PokerStrategists Lechiffre19 and superbaldas are among the chip leaders while TeddyTheKiller along with Team PokerStrategy.com members Simon1989 and CuCbKu have also made it into Day 2.

A total of 263 players signed up for Day 1A of the €5,000 + €300 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event. After 9 levels of play on the opening day, 137 players survived to make it into Day 2.

Team PokerStrategy.com members CuCbKu and Simon1989 (pictured right) were joined by PokerStrategists like teddythekiller, superbaldas, lechiffre19,geniodelletartarughe and peetoon on Day 1A

Overall, it was a good day at the tables for the PokerStrategists as most of them have gotten past the first hurdle and will return to play on Day 2. Several others, including Thorsten77 and henrikx will be playing on Day 1B, so check out our live ticker thread for all the latest updates.

Lechiffre19 5th, superbaldas 6th after Day 1A

According to the official chip counts from the PokerStarsBlog, two PokerStrategists have made it into the top 10 at the end of the opening day. Giuseppe "Lechiffre19" Pantaleo is fifth with 135,900 chips, while Fabrizio "superbaldas" Baldassari is right behind him with 129,200 chips.

CuCbKu didn't pick up quite as many chips as these two PokerStrategists but will still go into Day 2 with a well above average stack of 84,300 chips. He sprang into action late on and took down two nice pots in the second last level of the day. After knocking out a shortie, he picked up K-K after an aggressive opponent had raised from UTG, and managed to get it all in against Q-Q.

Simon1989 will also be starting Day 2 with an above average stack. He now has 60,000 chips after what he said was a boring day at the tables.“I didn't have cards, I won a few critical hands but I was so bored. I'm happy that I didn't do something stupid during the day,” said Simon1989 to fizoloff, our reporter there.
