WPT Grand Prix de Paris Day 1a: Tough Field in France
The WPT Grand Prix de Paris began on Monday, and it drew 96 of the toughest players from across the world. Theo Jorgensen, Dominik Nitsche, and Justin Bonomo are in the top 10, and plenty of other familiar faces are in Paris for the event.

Day 1a of the WPT Grand Prix de Paris is in the books, and 51 of the 96 entrants made it through the day. Although there were under 100 runners, the field will have a chance to grow significantly on Day 1b because players who busted on Day 1a will be able to re-enter.
What happened on Day 1a?
Noteworthy players with chips - The Day 1a field was full of well-known poker pros. The first player to make a large upward climb was Kara Scott, who doubled up early with Kings vs. Tens. She finished the day in 13th place with 67,200 chips. Joining her towards the top of the chip counts were Theo Jorgensen and Justin Bonomo, who finished the day in 6th and 9th places respectively.
PokerStrategists with chips - A number of PokerStrategists entered this event on Day 1a and made it through the day. The biggest stack among them is Dominik 'ace0ntheriver' Nitsche, who sits in 7th place with 71,200 chips. Other PokerStrategists with chips include Marko 'infinity1000' Neumann (11th), Philipp 'philgruissem' Gruissem (12th), Marvin 'xcrash154' Rettenmaier (23rd), Igor 'lechuckpoker' Kurganov (37th), and Dan 'junglemandan' Cates (40th).
Early bustouts - Although they will have a chance to enter the event again on Day 1b, some players who busted on Day 1a include Michael Mizrachi, Vanessa Selbst, Roberto Romanello, Scott Seiver, David Benyamine, Dan Smith, and Guillaume Darcourt.
