In yesterday's Daily Rewind we brought you news of PokerStrategy.com's Heads-Up Championship, which will feature eight world-class heads-up players in a series of knockout matches.

Scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, November 27th, the tournament will not only crown the inaugural PokerStrategy.com HU Champion, but release a series of 14 training videos.

As yet the full roster of competitors has been kept under wraps, but today saw the announcement of the first two players.

Dustin 'oblioo' Juniper and Paul 'lnternet' Otto will be the first players going into the live match-up draw, which will take place this weekend.

Greg's got the biggest heart

Greg makes it four

He's got a reputation as one of the nicest poker pros in the world and following his 2004 WSOP Main Event win Greg Raymer has proven multiple times that he's not just a one hit wonder.

Indeed, with deep runs in subsequent WSOP events, as well as online titles to his name, it's fair to say that Greg is an accomplished tournament player.

That reputation was enhanced even further yesterday as "The Fossilman" claimed his fourth Heartland Poker Tour title of the year.

Having taken down the $1,500 event in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in July, Greg's been on a sensational run that's seen him scoop tournaments across America.

Yesterday's victory in Indiana earned him another $106,030, taking his total HPT winnings for the year to $371,967. Moreover, it cements his position at the top of the HPT's points leaderboard.

PokerStars celebrate another milestone

PokerStars is about to reach another milestone and that can only mean one thing: free money.

With 90 billion hands looming large on the horizon, the online poker site is going to be handing out prizes at every one millionth step on the road to their grand total.

Expected to hit in the next couple of weeks, players can take advantage of the giveaway by simply playing any PokerStars cash game.

For the lucky players dealt into the 90 billionth hand at least $20,000 will be there prize.

Evan's bluffs divide United

It's official, Jonny Evans is the best poker player at Manchester United.

The Irish defender lived up to his playing position during the recent PartyPoker sponsored charity event by successfully defending the title he won last year.

Before the tournament kicked off the players were given a master class by Tony G, before he sat down with co-commentator Anders Lindergaard to rate their chances of success.

Describing Evans before the start of the match, Tony said: "You are not a rock Jonny – play it hard from the back. No need for slow play from you and keep the fluent passing. Use that Northern Irish steel of yours, it will be needed."

After defeating the likes of Darren Fletcher, Danny Welbeck and Rafael da Silva, Evans said:

"I'm over the moon. Especially to be two times champion. Some people will say I am lucky but now I have proven I am the number one champ."

Micro stakes corner

More micro mayhem

PokerStars' MicroMillions might have only been running for five days but in that time a total of 43 tournaments have concluded and more than 500,000 entrants have been counted across the series.

With seasoned pros mixing it up with regular micro grinders, the action has been gripping from the start.

Indeed, with players scooping $15,000+ scores for just a few dollars, the excitement for the event's third incarnation certainly isn't waning.

In the last 24 hours another batch of micro champions have been crowned, including: "xkarlovicx" ($6,367), "MaraskalAS" ($6,021) and "gargamelish" ($7,459).

Currently topping the MicroMillions Player of the Series leaderboard is Russia's "Alfons777999".

With a total of four cashes, including an outright win in Event 6, the online grinder has amassed 150 points which is enough to put him ahead of "Artur Lesley" on 140.

The most successful player of the series will win a Champion's Trophy as well as an all-expenses paid trip to the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
