Dan Colman banks $21 million in 2014

In today's Daily Rewind we recap Dan Colman's staggering MTT run and enjoy a taste of irony with Scott Seiver.

Colman's staggering run

It's being hailed as the most impressive tournament run of all time and when you look at the stats it's hard to argue otherwise.

Daniel Colman was already one of the biggest winners in history after he won this year's Big One for ONE DROP and now he's followed that up with a seven-figure score in Florida.

Just a couple of weeks after coming second for $1,118,479 at the EPT Super High Roller in Barcelona, Colman has banked another $1,446,710 after winning the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Main Event.

Cruising past more than 1,400 players, Colman eventually clinched the title after his A K outpaced Mike Leah's Q J on the final hand.

With that the 23-year-old was presented with his third title of 2014 (he won the Super High Roller at the EPT Grand Final) as well as another bumper payout.

Since the start of 2014, Colman has won a staggering $21,066,473 ($21,612,852 overall) and now sits in third place on the all time money list ahead of Phil Ivey who has $21,457,074 in live earnings.

Seiver's ironic win

Irony struck in the best way possible for Scott Seiver earlier this week after the generosity of the Seminole Hard Rock Casino earned him a $50,000 payday.

Earlier this week the American pro caused a stir when he persuaded the organisers of the SHRPO $100,000 Super High Roller to pay two people instead of the three that were listed on the structure sheet.

Seiver's main argument was that the players had been told at the start of the tournament that only two places would be paid and players had based their strategy on this dynamic.

Such a move led to a raft of complaints from other players, so, as a gesture of goodwill, the casino added an extra $50,000 to the prizepool as a gift to the player finishing in third place.

Ironically it was Seiver who eventually hit the rail in third and was left thanking the casino staff for ignoring his earlier requests to only pay two players.

Chun Lei Zhou overcame his latest downswing to post a table-topping $206,854 profit last night. Grinding out 1,823 hands, the Asian amateur finished comfortably ahead of Gus Hansen who enjoyed a second day on the profit leaderboard with a $114,872 win.

Failing to beat negative variance in the last 24 hours and finishing atop of the latest loss leaderboard was 'Crazy Elior'. Overall, the online grinder dropped $149,994 to lead 'Follow The Hawk' and 'taktloss47' on the deficit chart.
