WSOPE coming to Czech Republic

European series pens new partnership deal with King's Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, already the biggest poker room in Europe.

The World Series of Poker Europe has announced its new partner casino will be the King's Casino Rozvadov, near the Czech Republic’s German border.

Already the largest poker room in Europe, the King's Casino has upwards of 150 poker tables and will now become a regular fixture on the WSOP schedule, beginning with next year’s hosting of the WSOPE festival, a feat that will be emulated two years later.

Despite its already substantial size, the 24/7 venue is currently overseeing an expansion which will see it increase its poker table capacity by 40 as well as opening a new hotel tower.

What the future holds

WSOP owners, Caesar's Entertainment, outlined what this means for the venue going forward.

In addition to a circuit event beginning today, the venue, which also staged a similar event last year, will host the WSOPE festival in the springs of 2017 and 2019. In the intermittent years of 2018 and 2020, there will also be two further circuit events for both years, again one in the spring but this time with a second one around autumn time.

It has also been confirmed that, in 2017 and 2019, at least 10 gold bracelets will be made available for each festival, which will be televised.

Rozvadov becomes the 5th destination for the WSOPE, having previously been held in London, Paris, Cannes and Berlin.
