Asia Pacific Poker Tour - Season 3

The events scheduled for the third season of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT)) have been announced by PokerStars. Macau, China will be the host for the first leg of the tour that will be played in 5 different cities this year.

APPT 3 will kick off with the official welcome party on August 24, and play will begin at the Grand Lisboa Casino beginning the next day. The APPT Macau Main Event will then proceed for the next 6 days.

After China, the tour will take itself to 4 other cities in the Asia Pacific region. The other host cities this year will be Seoul - South Korea (17-20 September), Auckland - New Zealand (14-18 October), Cebu - Philippines (12-15 November) and Sydney, Australia (1-6 December). Cebu City which is located on a tropical island is a new stop in the tour as the Philippines leg in Season 2 was hosted in Manila.

In the APPT Season 2, 1227 participants from all over the world took part in the tour.  The total prize pool then was nearly $5 million. Martin Rowe who won the APPT Sydney Main Event was the big winner last year as he took home $648,046. Edward Sabat won $453,851 after emerging as the champion of APPT Macau 2008.

In the run-up to the events, PokerStars will be holding APPT Steps satellites that will give player's the chance to win APPT packages that will include the tournament buy-in and luxury accommodation.
