Coren and Mitchell to tie knot

Yesterday, the poker community extended its congratulations to EPT winner, TV presenter and media darling Victoria Coren upon hearing of her engagement to Peep Show funnyman David Mitchell.

In quintessentially English fashion, the couple announced their engagement through the Births, Deaths and Marriages section of The Times yesterday. We wish them all the best.

PokerStars rolls out low stakes and micro fixed-limit Zoom

PokerStars' new speed poker product, Zoom Poker, has been well recieved since its beta inception last week. Players were delighted to see the addition of low stakes No Limit Hold'em and Pot Limit Omaha (stakes up to $0.50/$1) yesterday. In addition, Fixed Limit players can now play $0.10/$0.20 Zoom.

While there are still some small bugs and issues with the software, players are filling the games round the clock and it seems that higher stakes games plus Zoom tournaments will be hitting PokerStars soon.

WPT Vienna & ElkY joins Premier League

April is set to be a big month in poker as Vienna prepares itself for a two week festival of action, including the WPT Main Event, PartyPoker Big Game and PartyPoker Premier League.

The Montesino Casino hosts the €3500 WPT Main Event, as well as a variety of side events, including a €500 6-max NL Hold'em and the €10,000 No Limit Hold'em High Roller event.

News also reaches us that Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is the latest addition to the PartyPoker Premier League.

"ElkY" adds some Gallic flair in joining the likes of Patrik Antonius, Daniel "junglemandan" Cates, Tom Dwan, Sam Trickett and Vanessa Selbst in the $125,000 buy-in event, which starts on April 4.

Daniel Negreanu released his fifth weekly rant yesterday and covers the upcoming iSeriesLIVE tournament in which he'll be participating. Odds have been released for iSeriesLIVE on Paddy Power, which you can check out here.

It seems that the pint-sized Canadian is enjoying the limelight of his weekly Vlog, so much so that he's even included a sketch where he interviews himself dressed as Scotty Nguyen. Don't give up the day job, Daniel...

High stakes corner

It was another belter of a day at the high stakes PLO games on PokerStars yesterday, as Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky obliterated the opposition, padding his bankroll by an enormous $400,000 according to HighStakesDB.

It's been another rollercoaster week for Viktor "Isildur1" Blom; at the time of writing Blom is still sitting in the $100/$200 PLO games in the midst of a 30 hour marathon session, currently stuck around $250,000.

We'll see if Viktor can turn it around by tomorrow.
