Micro Million Main

PokerStars’ mini tournament bonanza came to a close yesterday after Argentina’s “SoyDelGlobo” took down the $22 main event.

A staggering 65,063 players found enough loose change in their account to pay the entrance fee and push the prizepool to $1,301,260.

With so much money in the pot the payouts would start at 8,505th place and the eventual winner would walk away with $166,210.

PokerStar pros Nacho Barbero, Adrienne Rowsome and Marcel Luske all made the money, but at the final table it was all about “SoyDelGobo”.

With just three players left a deal was proposed and accepted by chip leader “SoyDelGobo” who was entitled to $134,054 according to the numbers.

However, Serbia’s “Kuconi” wasn’t so quick to agree. After thinking for over 15 minutes he eventually declined the $104,161 offer.

A twist of fate eventually sent “Kuconi” to the rail in third for $85,072, almost $20,000 less than he could have made, leaving “SoyDelGobo” and “cokars” to split the money and play for the title, plus $20,000.

Things finally came to an end when a set of fours scooped “SoyDelGobo” all the chips, the big share of the prizepool and MicroMillions glory.

Feldman is a Secret Chef

First it was the Secret Millionaire and now Andrew Feldman looks set to take another shot at being a TV star.

Having basically signalled his intention to play less poker and focus on other projects, Feldman is now planning on test his cooking skills on UK TV show, Come Dine with Me.

The show features a group of contestants who test the dinner party hosting skills in a bid to win a £1,000 prize.

If Andrew makes it onto the show and wins he’ll be one small step towards clearing his debt with Sam Trickett.

High Stakes Corner

A few days ago we brought you news of a high stakes run that the likes of Viktor “Isildur1” Blom would be proud of.

After appearing on the Cake Network at the end of May, Poker Table Ratings had tracked “_GimmeDAT_”’s earnings at just over $1.3 million.

The huge profit in just a few hands certainly got the community talking, but upon further inspection it seems there may have been an error somewhere.

After following the progress of the unknown player over the last three days, his winnings have been lowered to $462,009.

Obviously this is still a very good profit margin for someone who’s only played 5k hands; however, it’s not quite as impressive as $1.3 million.

What’s intriguing is that nowhere on his profile does it mention a $900,000+ losing session.

While the most likely explanation is that PTR’s software is at fault, it certainly adds a little more intrigue into the mystery surrounding the player.

Mega Money at the Mega Poker Series

Following on from the success of last month's event at the Casino Gran, Madrid, the Mega Poker Tour will heading to Croatia for its fourth stop of the year.

Taking place between October 17th and 21st, the event will carry a €770 buy-in and a starting stack of 77,000 for the main event.

In addition to this, players will be able to take advantage of a single rebuy if they bust before the end of level four.
