Micromillions Main Event
The inaugural PokerStars Micromillions series reached its crescendo last night as 54,065 players took their seats for the main event.
For just a $22 buy-in, players were looking at first place prize money in excess of $150,000. The tournament ran for just shy of 14 hours and when the final table was set eight different nationalities faced off for the big bucks.
When all was said and done, it was Czech player "Zabaleta1" who took the lion's share of the money in a three-way chop, bagging himself a very tidy $140,000.
The first Micromillions series can only be described as a runaway success; huge fields and huge prizepools are testament to this and we look forward to the next Micromillions offering from PokerStars with interest.

Premier League lineup complete
With the PartyPoker Premier League now only a matter of days away, we now know the complete list of names who will be stumping up the $125,000 buy-in to take part in the hotly anticipated event.
The last seat in the coveted series has been taken by current WPT champion Scott Seiver.
Seiver joins Erik Seidel, Tony G, Bertrand Grospellier, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Sam Trickett, Luke Schwartz, Tom Dwan, Daniel Cates, Vanessa Selbst, Andy Frankenberger, Eugene Katchalov, Phil Laak and Patrik Antonius in a mouthwatering line up which will also include two qualifiers.

EPT Campione
The EPT hits Campione, a small Italian municipality located within Switzerland just a kilometre from the Swiss/Italian border and within touching distance of the beautiful Lake Lugano.
Campione is no stranger to top level poker, having hosted the Italian Poker Tour on two previous occasions.

Move over Annette
While poker has seen the likes of Liv Boeree, Vanessa Selbst and Annette Obrestad burst onto the scene in recent years, there still remains a large discrepancy in the male to female player ratio.
However today we have news of another female prodigy in the making, with Veronika Pavlikova taking down the France Poker Series Snowfest this weekend in Evian.
The 18 year old Czech sensation overcame the 296 runner field and a tough final table including the experienced Frenchman Guillaume Darcourt. She bagged €70,000 for her victory and is certainly one to watch.

High stakes corner
Yesterday saw a return to form for railbird favourite Ilari "Ilari FIN" Sahamies. The plucky Fin combined well timed aggression with some rungood to bank a healthy winning day, good for $150,000 according to HighStakesDB.
Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky and Ronny "1-ronnyr3" Kaiser also enjoyed profitable Sundays, both winning close to $80,000.
At the other end of the table it was a painful end to the weekend for "Gozoboro" who owns the unwanted title of day's biggest loser, after dropping a touch under $120,000.

With news of Veronika Pavlikova bursting onto the poker radar this weekend, we look back at the crowning moment in the poker career of Annette Obrestad.
Here she is winning the WSOPE Main Event back in 2007.
