WSOP Main Event's finale

It's official, this year's WSOP Main Event has finally found its November Nine.
With the ashes of more than 6,000 players scattered across the Rio like dejected pieces of confetti, the nine survivors are now just a few eliminations away from an $8,359,531 payday.
Today's final session came to a conclusion when JC Tran and Carlos Mortensen tangled on a 
board.
After moving all-in with 
Mortensen needed some help against Tran's 
, but as the 
fell the river the Spaniard became the final table bubble boy.
Following Mortensen's exit the Twittersphere exploded with messages of commiserations and congratulations for those involved.
Indeed, whilst the likes of @Kevmath tweeted that it is "too bad Carlos Mortensen couldn't be a part" of a "fun final table", November Niner Ryan Reiss wrote: "One word: YES".
The surviving nine will now return on November 4 to battle for the Main Event's $500,000 bracelet.

Provisional WCOOP plan released

PokerStars has just released a tentative schedule for its annual WCOOP festival.
Although unconfirmed, this year there will be at least 65 tournaments on offer throughout September.
Last year's WCOOP saw more than $55 million given away and this time around the organisers are hoping to top that figure.
Indeed, a number of tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $215 to $25,500 will be on offer this time around and PokerStars' is asking players to submit their feedback via wcoop@pokerstars.com.
Satellites will kick off on August 8 and players can qualify for WCOOP main events from just a few dollars.

Sunday September 15 - $25,500 NLHE High Roller
Tuesday September 24 - $320 Mixed NLHE/PLO

Viktor "Isildur1" Blom's recent upswing has hit a severe roadblock in the last few days.
Following a string of six-figure losses, the Swedish pro saw another $373,344 disappear from his bankroll in the last 24 hours.
The loss was enough to put him top of the daily deficit chart ahead of "Kagome Kagome" who lost a relatively meagre $75,770.
Benefiting the most from Blom's slide was Kyle "KPR16" Ray as he finished the day ahead of "Trueteller" ($102,976) with a $354,754 profit.
While Blom's downswing hasn't affected his standing atop of the annual leaderboard, his overall profit has now slipped closer to the $4 million mark thanks to a $626,820 drop in the last 48 hours.
