WPT Gets Bigger
The World Poker Tour will extend its global reach next season with the inclusion of some new stops.
In an effort to see out 2012 in style, the WPT organisers have created a fresh schedule that includes inaugural events in Philadelphia, Copenhagen and Mazagan, Morocco.
Season XI kicks off on August 4th in Cyprus, before the WPT bandwagon rolls back across the Atlantic to Philadelphia for the Parx Open Poker Classic.
As a twist compared to previous years, each national WPT event will allow players to re-enter if they bust out on Day 1. The only exception to this rule will be 2012’s final event: The Five Diamond World Poker Classic.
In total there will be 13 national and regional WPTs, as well as 11 main events. Check out the full list of events, here.

Getting His Grind On
PokerStrategy.com member and PokerStars Supernova Elite player, Martin "phase89" Balaz will be attempting to break the world record for most SNGs played in 30 days next month.
The hyper-turbo grinder will start his attempt at midnight on June 15th and blast his way through as many 6-max games as he can before July 14th.
As well as having to race through as many games as possible, he can only play at stakes equal to or greater than $30 and he must make a profit before rakeback.
Balaz is currently taking bets at odds of 1:2.5 in this thread.
Tony Takes Shot at Hellmuth
Tony G seems to be loving his time in Minsk at the moment according to his latest blog post.
Although he refrains from going into specific facts and figures, he does say that the games are so good that he’s agreed to “fly all the players from the game to Tony Resort for some good old fashioned hospitality.”
In typical Tony G style, he then goes on to take a few pot-shots at some well known pros, including Phil Hellmuth.
Tony’s tangent about Phil is prompted by the news that Party Poker will be introducing a new pro to their line-up.
As yet the identity of the player is being kept under wraps, but Tony did say that they will be flying the Party banner at the WPT World Championships later this week.

Sorel Mizzi’s health challenge has received a rousing response from the poker community.
In total 70 players have registered their interest and are now busy feeling the burn in a bid to become Mizzi’s personal protégé.
Among those who’ve joined the fitness trail is PokerStrategist Manig swordfish007 Löser.
The German pro recently finished 4th in SCOOP’s Event #8 for $92,428, but will now be looking to build his biceps instead of his bankroll.
High Stakes Corner
“10IsTheYear” and Brian “$tinger88” Hastings took down the most money at the high stakes tables yesterday with a combined haul of over $300,000.
The former had the biggest winning day, taking home $156,621, while Hastings logged off with a profit of $145,601.
In contrast, Ben “Sauce123” Sulsky and “terryhsu” faltered at the felt in the last 24 hours. Sulsky managed to drop $169,679 in 1,280 hands, which was almost $70K more than “terryhsu” who lost $105,226.
