Dan Kelly wins record fifth WCOOP title
The first WCOOP Mix-Max event sees the American leapfrog Shaun Deeb into first place in WCOOP titles.
The inaugural two-day $700 NLH Mix-Max took place over the weekend and produced a record breaking champion.
American player Daniel "djk123" Kelly took down the event, which gradually tests players at eight-handed, six-handed and finally four-handed tables.
722 players signed up to take part in the $500,000 guaranteed tourney, all in the knowledge that the only way to get a taste of the cash was to survive into the second day.
In winning the WCOOP title, Kelly’s fifth in total, he goes one ahead of fellow American Shaun Deeb. The victory also saw Kelly collect $88,102 following a post chop heads-up with his countryman Patrick "pmahoney22" Mahoney, who himself won a TCOOP title in January this year.
Kelly now adds his fifth WCOOP title to his other two COOP wins and both of his WSOP bracelets.
