Daniel Negreanu Reviews Team PokerStars Pros' Performances
Team PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu has reviewed the performance of him and his teammates in the past three years. Who are the top tournament players and who has made the most money this year? Read on to find out the top guns according to Negreanu's little research.
Daniel Negreanu (pictured right) is one of the most recognized faces on Team PokerStars Pro. Being highly fond of stats, he has decided to do a little research on his team to find out who are the most successful tournament players on it for the past three years.
Female reign in team ranks
Despite being outnumbered, the female members of Team PokerStars Pro have proven to be more than a match for their fellow teammates. Vanessa Selbst, Liv Boeree and Vanessa Rousso have all been ranked among top 10 by Negreanu, with the former two taking the first and second place.
Selbst topped the list with close to $2.9 million in tournament winnings this year, followed by Boeree who earned $1.8 million. Rousso earned herself the 9th place with just over $600k earned in 2010.
Mercier, the ultimate grinder
Biggest workhorse on the team, as Negreanu calls him, was Jason Mercier. He is one of the rare players to have earned over $1 million in tournaments in the past three years. His total winnings surpass the $5.1 million mark, however, with only $1 million earned this year, he is ranked 6th on Negreanu's list of top players.
Other notable mentions include David Williams who has silently made his way to over $1.5 million in profit, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier who steamrolled through 2008 with close to $4 million in profit and Nacho Barbero who won back-to-back LAPT titles. It is worth noting that the 2010 WSOP ME champ Jonathan Duhamel is not on the list because he wasn't on the list of Team Pros when Negreanu was compiling his list.
