Daniel Negreanu Swings Big For Charity

Daniel Negreanu (pictured right) is one of the best poker players in the world, but he has one more great passion in his life and that is golf. Carried on the wave of charity events organised by the poker community, Negreanu will host a charity golf tournament "Big Swing".

The tournament will be held at the Rio Secco Golf Club in Las Vegas on June 25, one day before the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event, and it will benefit the Lili Claire Foundation, a charity dedicated to helping children living with neurological conditions.

"I love golf, I love poker and I love the Lili Claire foundation. This event is a true passion of mine and I personally guarantee that everyone who participates will have a great time at a first-class event," said Negreanu.

The event will feature 30 amateur teams and one poker pro playing in each of them. The names of the pros who will participate in this event have not been announced yet. There will also be a closest to the pin competition on the par 3 7th hole where players will compete against Negreanu, who seems to be dedicating a lot of time practicing golf lately.

The whole event is expected to bring a lot of fun, but also raise money and Negreanu is optimistic on that matter:

"One hundred percent of the money we raise will go to the charity; everyone is really stepping up. We have so many ideas to make the event fun and raise money for a great children's charity located here in Vegas."

The Lili Claire Foundation was created in 1998 by Keith and Leslie Litt Resnick who lost their daughter when she was five months old. She was born with a condition known as Williams Syndrome and died after a heart surgery to help correct a problem associated with her condition. The Resnick's foundation helps to enhance the lives of children who were born with special needs and also supports the children's families.
