Dream Team Poker: Gold's Team Wins The Title
The second incarnation of the Dream Team Poker Tournament at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas saw Gold's "Team Aced" walking away with the title and the $59,000 prize. The individual winner of the tournament was Danny Nelson who took home $13,000 for finishing in the first place.
The Dream Team Poker Tournament has ended with "Team Aced" taking thetitle and the $59,000 first place prize thanks to Ashley Nataupsky's
4th place and Jamie Gold's (pictured right) 9th place finish.
The black sheep of Gold's team was Houston Waldie, as he got knocked
out on the first day, but he was still able to share the spoils of
tournament thanks to the event's unique format.
The teams are awarded
points based on the overall performance of their members and the team
with the most points is declared the tournament champion.
This was the first Dream Team event that was open to the public and it
turned out to be a great success. A total of 148 teams (444 players)
paid the $1,500 to step into the battlefield which generated the prize
pool of $222,000.
The team's were competing for $133,200 of that prize
pool, while the players were racing for $88,000.
The individual winner of the tournament was Danny Nelson which earned
him $13,000. Nelson, runner-up Philip Rousseaux and Gerald Percival
agreed to a chop after Nataupsky ended his run in 4th place.
Tournament organizers made a poll from collected media on the most
original team name and it turned out to be Jerry Yang's (pictured left) team "6 Hands,
4 Nuts and a Rack" which also included Kristy Gazes and Erik Aude.
