Hansen Recovers From A Bad Beat

Everything was looking good for Gus Hansen in April, chips flying all
over the online tables and most importantly they all landed into his
pocket, but then his perfect month reached a twist.

First he got into a
fight with Phil "OMGCLayAiken" Galfond (pictured right) on the topic of who's the fish
and who's the shark in the biggest online cash games, which resulted in a long PLO session between the two. Hansen ended on the receiving end but one bad beat was not about to discourage the Great Dane.

He recovered some losses shortly after but then again found himself losing to the "Urindanger" brothers. All in all, Hansen was losing millions and with April coming to an end, it looked like he would record one of the biggest losses this year, but Hansen woke up from his bad dream last Friday and started collecting the lost money.

From Friday to Saturday, Gus Hansen (pictured left) won an amazing $1.82 million
playing mostly heads-up $500/$1000 PLO. He was playing up to four tables
at a time with his biggest victims being Tom "durrrr" Dwan, who lost $890,000, and Di "Urindanger" Dang, who lost $735,000.

There was actually a whole line of players who lost some money to Hansen lately, including Patrik Antonius, Hac "trex313" Dang, Sami "LarsLuzak" Kelopuro and David "MR B 2 U SON" Benyamine.

This weekend was not over yet and with Sunday, Hansen continued his great run, thus climbing up close to $2.5 million over a four-day period. Hansen's latest victim was David Benyamine.

Some of the biggest hands Hansen won in their HU PLO session were for $352,000 and $284,000, while Benyamine grabbed  one hand for $291,000. The whole session was swingy and Benyamine went from being stuck up to rising by almost $200,000 and finally ended down by $383,000 when the match ended.

With a few days left before the end of April, Hansen could recover from his losses and perhaps even find a spot on top of the winners list.
