High Stakes: Hansen Up $1.75 Million in January
The Great Dane is back! After spending months in the red, Gus Hansen has started 2010 with an impressive profit of almost $1.75 million. Meanwhile, Patrik Antonius has lost the same amount at the poker tables in January.
High stakes action in 2010 is well under way, and with January already behind us, it is time to take a look at the performance of the poker pros at the nosebleed stakes.
According to Highstakedb, the battle for the leading position on the list of winners for January was quite intense, with the top five players having all earned over $1 million.
At the same time, the list of losers saw one player take a downswing which put him $1 million "ahead" of the rest in the losers' list for January.
The Great Dane is back on track
After taking a break from the nosebleed stakes to analyse his game, Gus Hansen (pictured right) seems to be right back on track to his winning ways. He recorded an impressive profit of nearly $1.75 million in January, which makes him the biggest high stakes winner in the opening month of 2010.
Not far behind Hansen, with a profit of $1.5 million, Cole South has secured himself second place. In third place was Urindanger, who earned $1.2 million. Here are the top 10 winners for January:

$1.75 million loss for Antonius
Patrik Antonius (pictured right) may be the biggest winner in 2009, but the first month of 2010 has certainly not gone well for him. Down by $1.75 million, he takes the leading position on the list of January losers.
