High Stakes Poker: $743,000 Pot
The buy-in of the TV-show High Stakes Poker was raised to $500,000 and immediately the biggest pot in the history of the show was played!
At the moment the US TV transmitter GSN is showing the fourth season of High Stakes Poker. Up until now the minimum buy-in was $100,000 - a lot of money, which is why only two types of players appear on the show: a) The best poker professionals in the world and b) for the pleasure of the professionals, rich poker fascinated business man
However, in the last week there was a crucial change. The buy-in was raised to $500,000 from the eleventh episode onwards! This immediately caused for some pots being played with six figure dollar amounts. In the 12th episode a real smacker happened.

Patrik Antonius raises to $4,500 with

and reraises to $14.000 - Antonius calls the remaining $10.000.
The Flop comes:
- Antonius checks, Gold is ahead with his pocket kings and bets $15,000 - Antonius calls with his gutshot and an ace as his overcard. The turn is dealt:
! Jamie Gold hits his set of kings, but Antonius has made the nuts with a straight. The Finn immediately bets $45,000 making the pot $105,800 big. Gold thinks, announces a raise, and counts how much money he has left: It is only $341,500 - Gold is All-In! Self-evidently Antonius calls without hesitation. "****! I got a set of kings, you got Ace Jack?"- Gold anticipates that he is beat right now.
The Pot is at $743,800 - New record on High Stakes Poker!
The players agree that the river is dealt three times. This is a special rule which is commonly used in this series: If all involved players agree, the cards that are still to come will be dealt the amount of times the players have agreed on. In this case the dealer dealt three cards followed by each other as the river. In case of a player winning all three runs, he gets the whole pot. If a player is ahead in two of the three cases, he gets 2/3 of the pot.
River #1: 
! Jamie Gold makes a full house, 1/3 of the pot already belongs to him.
River #2: 
! Gold is lucky again and wins with another full house - 2:0!
River #3: 
- No change and Antonius can at least win one of the three rounds.
So $247.900 return to Antonius, Gold on the other hand takes $495.800. Antonius, who held the nuts on the turn, could even be called lucky because he agreed to run it three times!
