Kevin Roster is raising cancer awareness at the WSOP

A poker player is in Vegas using what little time he has left to educate people on Sarcoma and the right to die with dignity.

Former professional poker player Kevin Roster was diagnosed with Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Unfortunately it was not spotted soon enough and as a result he has lost his leg and has a very short time to live. 

He has moved to Sacramento to end his life under California's 'right-to-die' law, however before then he has gone to the World Series of Poker for one last poker journey, and to spread awareness about his disease. 

And raise awareness he has. His story has already been featured in a number of mainstream media publications like USA Today, ABC News and WHYY.

Naturally he has also caught the attention of the poker world, with Joe Ingram hoping to host him on his podcast and Greg Merson freerolling him into the Main Event:

“I want to rob cancer of its prize,” he told WHYY. “Like, I already have one leg, and I can still do the best I can to get out. But I’m not willing to rot from the inside out. I’m not willing to gasp for air or asphyxiate on my own blood. Not to be graphic but these are some of the ways you can go.”

Kevin's dream would be to take down a bracelet to get the maximum amount of media coverage for his cause. If you have any reserves of rungood this summer, please send them his way.
