Satellite winner wins WSOP-C Montreal Main Event

Allen Shen turned a $75 satellite win on GGPoker into a career-best score of C$605,001 and a circuit ring.

Poker needs more stories of satellite winners taking down huge scores, and this week we have had at least two in quick succession. 

Earlier this week, "72oooo" turned a $10 satellite win into a $10,000 GGMillion$ title and a $411,843 pay day. 

Now in Canada, Allen Shen has done something very similar. He won a $75 satellite on GGPoker to play in the WSOP-C Playground Montreal Main Event, and took it down for C$605,001. 

He defeated a field of 1,781 players and a stacked final table that included bracelet winners Pei Li and Brett Apter on his way to the title. 

Shen is quite an accomplished player in his own right, boasting a WSOP online bracelet, a PGT title and another WSOP-C ring earlier this year. 

We may see a third big satellite parlay tonight as several satellite qualifiers have made the final table of the record-breaking WSOPE Main Event.
