Spin & Go top prize now $1 million
PokerStars have increased the top Spin & Go multiplier for each level to up to 10,000 times the buy-in.
This now means that the recently introduced $100 buy-in level has a top prize of $1 million, in a permanent change for all buy-in levels.
Now even the $15 buy-in Spin & Go has the potential to create a six-figure first prize.
Millionaires have previously been crowned during specialist promotional periods. The first ever Spin & Go winner was 'sss66666' of Russia in January this year, who turned a $5 buy-in into seven figures.
This new move to increase multipliers to 10,000 has been made to celebrate the one year anniversary of Spin & Go at PokerStars. Initially the top multiplier was 1,000 times the buy-in, then 3,000 times the buy-in, and now it is 10,000.
To accommodate for the increased top prize, the frequency at which the jackpot will be hit has been reduced. Now there will be three 10,000 multipliers per one million Spin & Gos played.
The rake for these tournaments have remained the same.
Update: Since this article was created, PokerStars have revealed both $0.50 level and $5 Spin & Go tournaments, both with $1 million maximum prizes, as part of the anniversary celebrations.
