The Daily Rewind: GSOP Greece Final, World Record Attempt & Tilly Loses $55k

With all the action taking place in Cannes, you would be forgiven for thinking that no other tournaments are taking place in Europe. You would be wrong, however, as the Grand Series of Poker took place this week in Greece and has reached the final table.

338 players in total attended the $1650 main event, and now we are down to 9, with Bulgarian Stefan Genchev in control with over 2 million chips.

Like Father Like Son

There are a lot of great Father & Son combinations in poker, but this week in the UK a parental poker feat was pulled off which we don't think will be repeated any time soon.

On Thursday, Paul Jackson (Best known for an infamous hand with Phil Ivey at the Monte Carlo Millions) and his son Ben both took down side events of GUKPT Coventry on the same day.

Jackson Senior won a PLO side event for £2000, while Jackson Junior won a £300 No Limit event for £7,800.

Poker Endurance Record Challenged

The world record for continuous hours played at a poker table has already been broken three times in the last three years. Now an Indian poker company called 'The Shark' will be vying to break it once again.

The 'India Poker Legend Marathon Cash Game Session' will feature nine players, has been sanctioned by Guinness World Records, and will attempt to break 115 hours. The last player standing thereafter will be crowned the champion.

The event takes place Casino Royale, Goa, India from November 22 to 27.

High Stakes Corner

We are looking outside the box today with high stakes corner, as the only player to boast a WSOP bracelet and an Oscar nomination appears to have been bluffed out of $55,000.

No it wasn't a massive pot. In fact, Jennifer Tilly has alleged she has been cheated out of over $55k by the Maxfield store in LA.

The actress alleges she was told by a store clerk that a ring she loved cost $15,000, but was charged over $69,500 on her Amex Card, which she didn't notice until she got her bill.

Tilly has filed a lawsuit against the store, as apparently they would not refund her the difference.
