The deck that changed the game forever

The poker memorabilia market has grown beyond recognition over the past few years. The popularity of televised poker has turned average joes into legitimate celebrities and the market is only going to grow bigger.

We've seen several WSOP bracelets auctioned off in the past, but this week one piece of poker history is up for sale that has immense historical significance.

The complete deck of cards used during heads-up play between Chris Moneymaker and Sam Farha at the 2003 WSOP Main Event is up for auction on eBay with a starting price of $7,500.

Moneymaker's WSOP win is widely heralded as the fuse that sparked the poker boom, so it will be interesting to see what price the souvenir hunters put on the cards which made it all happen.

Is this the last November Nine?

Tensions are mounting as we draw ever closer to Sunday's WSOP final table. The November Nine return to the Rio's Penn and Teller Theatre this weekend and this year's broadcast is set to be the most technologically advanced televised poker experience of all time.

The event will be streamed on a 15 minute delay on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com and viewers will be spoiled with in game stat-tracker graphics showing bet and stack sizes.

Rumours have been circulating that this may be the last November Nine for the WSOP Main Event, much thanks to the success of streaming broadcasts, but there has been no official confirmation of this. We look forward to the final table.

High stakes corner

For the first time in a long while, a player from PartyPoker tops the winners' charts today. Over the past 24 hours, player "CALLCALL" has racked up an impressive $89,767 profit over at the $25/$50 NL tables, according to HSDB.

The day's biggest loser belongs to PokerStars though, with "VietRussian" propping up the table having suffered a defeat to the tune of $98,464.
