Titan Poker hosts their first ever live tournament

We all know that Titan Poker is a force to be reckoned with in the online community. But now Titan is joining some of the other big sites and hosting its first live tournaments.

 

Titan Poker has been billed by some as the fastest growing online poker room on the web. Apparently though, Titan Poker wants to extend its reach even farther than the online world and has taken to sponsoring a live tournament.

The tournament, which is called the Eurocity Poker Tour (ECPT) Madrid Open, will be staged from May

 

9th to May 12th and will be held in Madrid, Spain. Its exact location will be the glamorous Casino Gran Madrid and 200 lucky players have been invited to attend.

 

The players who qualified for the ECPT did so by winning $3,000 prize packages offered by Titan Poker through qualifying satellites that have been running since February. Included in these generous packages are round-trip plane tickets, three nights worth of accommodations, and the 1,000 Euro buy-in fee for the ECPT.

Represented at the tourney will be players from all over the globe. Many will hail from Europe but some will be coming from as far away as Canada!

The Madrid Open will even give amateur players such as Italian Massimiliano Assini the chance to take part in the event. Assini, who made it to the ECPT via a satellite qualifier, summed up this opportunity by saying, "Thanks to Titan Poker, I have been able to cultivate my passion."

The Eurocity Poker Tour isn't the only land based tournament that Titan Poker plans to send people like Assini to though as it already has plans in the works for others. Titan is currently offering qualifiers for tourneys such as the Irish Open which will take place in Dublin. The World Poker Showdown Ocean World in the Dominican Republic is yet another place Titan will be sending people.

The reason for this sudden interest in land based tourneys by Titan Poker was stated by a spokeswoman for the company when she said, "At the rate of our expansion, and considering the number of players we are sending to the tournaments every month, it only makes sense that Titan Poker should take it to the next level."

And it certainly appears that Titan will be taking many more players along with them to the next level.
