The 2016 PokerStars SCOOP starts today

Gear up for the Spring Championship of Online Poker, which starts today with $40m in guarantees.

PokerStars' SCOOP returns to your devices today, promising to be the largest in its history with more money up for grabs than ever before.

Running from Sunday May 8 to May 23, the seventh series will host 55 events, each with three buy-ins ranging from low, medium or high, giving everyone of all different bankrolls a chance to scoop a prize at this year's SCOOP.  

The series will be putting more than $40,000,000 in guaranteed prize money on the table, including at least $7,000,000 for the Main Event on May 22, plus there's also the chance to win tickets to this year's WCOOP due to take place in September.

Series highlights

There are a whole host of extra new additions this year including progressive super-knockouts, an eight-max high roller on May 14, a three-max turbo progressive knockout zoom on May 20 and a Hold'em mix max on May 21.

Of course, all eyes will be drawn to the SCOOP Main Event on May 22, for which the buy-ins range from $100, $1,000 and $10,000, carrying guarantees of $1 million, $2 million, and $4 million respectively, totalling $7 million in all.

There will once again be a Player of the Series race where the overall winner will get $20,000 in cash and a Player of the Series trophy, just like Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier did last year, following his three event wins.

Throughout this year's championship, there will be satellites starting for as little as $0.11 or 1x StarsCoin as well as special VIP events so keep checking in for updates.
