The online WSOP Main Event starts today
It may not be in Las Vegas but today the biggest prize pool MTT in online poker history gets underway with a bracelet at the end of it.
It has been an unprecedented year for the world and the poker industry. Today we begin what will probably be the only 'WSOP Main Event' of 2020.
Today at GGPoker we have the first of 22 starting flights for the $5,000 Main Event. It may not be the $10,000 event we know from Las Vegas, but with a $25 million guarantee it will be the biggest tournament in online poker history.
Players have a maximum of three re-entries in total between now and August 29 before Day 2 and 3 begin.
Satellites are running around the clock now at GGPoker for the first flight and every one after it.
Also today is the start of the Big $50, the lowest buy-in tournament in WSOP history. It has 15 starting flights before Day 2 on August 23rd and comes with a $1 million guarantee.
Both tournaments start their first flight at 20:00 GMT.
