PokerStrategy: Hi Peter87! You are our new hand judge. Please introduce yourself.
Peter87: Hi, my Name is Peter Stanislawski. I am 20 years old, and I am attending college in Würzburg, Germany.

PokerStrategy : What are you majoring in?
Peter87: I am in my third semester as a political science major.

PokerStrategy : How did you get into Poker?
Peter87: A friend of mine started playing Poker about 1 1/2 years ago. He told me about PokerStrategy and I thought it was really interesting, so I tried it.

PokerStrategy : So PokerStrategy was your first contact with Poker? Or had you tried it elsewhere?
Peter87: No. It was my very first contact with Poker. Before then, I really had no clue what it was about.

PokerStrategy : What do you do in your spare time besides playing Poker? You study political science, so you probably don't have much time with all that reading. Or are you one of those lazy students?
Peter87: Well, it's not too bad. I don't think that my studies are too time consuming. I do a lot of sports (running, soccer, swimming) and I am also politically active.

PokerStrategy : Which party are you a member of?
Peter87: FDP or the youth organization of the FDP. Well, and then there is the normal life of partying at college.

PokerStrategy : OK. So you are a young liberal. That's interesting. What do your FDP friends think about you playing poker? Or do you guys just gamble over your party finances?
Peter87: He he, well, they know about it, but it isn't a big deal. We play poker now and then, but they are pretty bad. Some are amazed that you can make money with it.

PokerStrategy : How did you become such a strong player? Did you read articles? Did you watch videos?
Peter87: It was a long learning process. I started out reading all of the PokerStrategy articles. Also, I am, and have been, very active in the sample hand boards. Evaluating hands has been very helpful and brought me much further.

PokerStrategy : Why is that?
Peter87: I think you achieve most at Poker if you analyze your hands in retrospect. You learn so much more. You have enough time, and you can even calculate things, etc.

PokerStrategy : What limits do you currently play? Which limits are you aiming for?
Peter87: I just moved up to NL 200 SH. I feel pretty comfortable with this rise and I am pretty sure I have enough skills to beat it. Unfortunately, my rise is postponed since I tilt too much. That's why my first goal is to play without tilting.

PokerStrategy : What do you do in order to achieve this short-term goal?
Peter87: Hmm, that's hard to say. I am not that successful at it yet. I try to consciously control myself and to keep the sessions short. I take breaks more often and I try to stop after a beat.

PokerStrategy : What is it that others can learn from your hand evaluations?
Peter87: I am hoping that they learn how to play correctly. No, seriously: I am pretty good in most situations and I am hoping to share this skill. If I am in doubt I always like to discuss the situation with a few other players before posting. It should therefore be pretty up to standard. I enjoy evaluating hands, partly because I learned so much by doing it.
