Black Member Simon "ScHnibL0r" Münz has joined Team PokerStrategy.com and will play his first tournament for the team tomorrow.
Team PokerStrategy.com is happy to welcome a new member to the Team: PokerStrategist will play his first tournament as a team member at the PokerStars.com EPT in Vilamoura tomorrow. In our interview he talks about experiences with tournaments, travelling, and future plans.
Interview with ScHnibL0r
PokerStrategy.com: Hello Simon. Of course I'd heard of ScHnibL0r before and I've even met you a couple of times, but to be honest I don't know you that well. Why don’t you start off by introducing yourself?
: Well, I am Simon Münz, 22 years old, and at the moment I play poker for a living. I started playing poker in 2005 and the first 2 years I played Fixed-Limit up to $1,000/$2,000. After that I started playing No-Limit up to $40,000 NL. At this moment I’m playing PLO, NL, FL, and also some tournament poker.
PokerStrategy.com: So, the big news is that you’re joining Team PokerStrategy.com. Like you said in your introduction, you have more of a cash game background - what made you decide to join Team PokerStrategy.com?
: Well, I started playing live tournaments about 2 years ago. I was looking for an opportunity to get more into it and playing for the team is a nice step forward towards making that happen. I’m looking forward to playing on a nice team like Team PokerStrategy.com and to discuss tournament play with great players like Trader, Pokernoob, Nazgul and Allanon. For the rest, I just hope that my videos will improve the current lineup on PokerStrategy.com even more.
PokerStrategy.com: So you’ve been playing live Tournament poker for 2 years. What’s your experience with tournaments so far?
: Since I always enjoyed traveling, playing live tournament poker has been a great opportunity to get some variety between playing live and online. My experience with live poker so far has been quite OK. I have played some EPT’s (PCA, Dortmund, London) already. I’ve been to Vegas twice and also played some televised tournaments and cash games as well. I’m really motivated about continuously improving my live game and to become a very good live player in the future.
PokerStrategy.com: That’s already an impressive record! But that’s all in the past now. At present you’re playing the EPT Main Event here in Vilamoura, which begins tomorrow for you. How about the future?
: I’m planning to play a lot of poker next year, online as well as live. Now that I’ve joined Team PokerStrategy.com I’m going to play the upcoming EPT’s starting tomorrow with Vilamoura, and after that Prague in December, and the Bahamas in January. I'll also try to play some live cash games at these events.
PokerStrategy.com: Now that we’re talking about future plans - you’ve spent the last few weeks in Gibraltar, tell us about that!
: Well I’m planning to move to Gibraltar because the situation with poker in Germany is quite complicated. As I really want to make a living playing poker I want to be able to cash out my money legally and tax-free. I’ve spent the last few weeks in Gibraltar looking for an apartment and discovering Gibraltar and the company. I had a lot of fun and I got to know a lot of PokerStrategy.com employees. Right now I’ve already found a nice apartment and I’m planning to move there in January, and do some work for PokerStrategy once I'm living there.
PokerStrategy.com: OK, last question, and I just have to ask this. Starcraft match-up, You vs. Robbie, who would win?
: That’s a really tough question. Sadly, I didn’t play a lot of Starcraft for the past 3 years so I think Robbie might be better right now. I think I have gotten too slow to control the thousands of Zerglings I usually use. Maybe it would be an even match-up since Zerg vs Protoss is not that difficult.
