Community member BongBob joins Team PokerStrategy.com

Team PokerStrategy.com welcomes Community member BongBob who joins the team at the EPT in Prague this week. Especially experienced in live tournaments, he is looking forward to be a part of the team as he tells us in our interview with him.

Community member Bongbob is the newcomer in Team PokerStrategy.com and playing this week for the first time with the team at the EPT in Prague. In our interview he talks about his tournament experiences, how he got his name, and why he wears a hood at tournaments.

PokerStrategy.com: Hi Konstantin, could you please introduce yourself to the community?

Bongbob: Sure! My name is Konstantin Bücherl. I’m studying National Economics in Regensburg. I’ve been playing poker for 3 years and for the last two years I have been playing semi-professionally. Last year I managed to become a supernova elite by grinding the mid-stake SNG’s. It was a really sick grind and I don’t think I would ever do it again. This year I focused mainly on MTT’s and played some more cash games. Besides poker, I like watching sports a lot, especially football.

PokerStrategy.com: Alright, a little more about your online career. You won a $500 rebuy SCOOP event. How much did you win exactly and how did you feel about your victory?

Bongbob: After making a deal Heads-Up, I took down the tournament for $190K. It was pretty exhausting, having to play 20 hours in a row, but I was obviously pretty happy after taking down my biggest score so far.

PokerStrategy.com: Yes, that was a pretty wild week for you right?

Bongbob: Oh yeah. I also won a $100 rebuy 3 days after this, for another $78K. This time, I didn’t make a deal. But yeah, that was indeed a pretty nice week.

PokerStrategy.com: When did you start playing live tournaments and how have you done so far?

Bongbob: I started playing tournaments at the CCC (Concord Card Casino) in Vienna. I played smaller stakes back then but I was pretty successful. I made 5 cashouts, 3 final tables and won twice within one week there. I'd also won a €500 deep-stacked tournament there about 2 years ago. Since I've been playing the major live tournaments I just haven't  manage to get lucky when I needed to. I hope things get better now that I’m playing for the team.

PokerStrategy.com: Yes, I think we all hope so. Are you excited about joining Team PokerStrategy.com?

Bongbob: Obviously I am. I’ve known Allanon and Pokernoob for about 2 years now and Nazgul and Trader for like 6 months. I know they’re all great players and I’m really happy to be a part of the team now. I hope one of us can make a final table soon.

PokerStrategy.com: Alright I think we all do, where does the nickname Bongbob come from?

Bongbob: Well I really like the music of Bob Dylan…

PokerStrategy.com: And you really like the Bong?

Bongbob: No, but I’ve heard he did. Anyway, Bongbob doesn’t really mean anything.

PokerStrategy.com: Fair enough. One last question then, you always play with your hood on. Do you have issues with your hair?

Bongbob: No. I just fear the live players. They do so many unbelievable reads, I’m just afraid that they will catch me out. Furthermore I just hope I look cool this way. And no, my hair is fine!
