Forum Adventures: Living The Good Life

Moving half way around the world to live and play poker with a few friends sounds like a good idea, but that's only until you actually do it. A few of our community members landed in the Philippines a few weeks ago, and they found out that it's awesome!

but this is not the five of them

While I was doing my usual exploration of our forums, I found a cool blog where five of our community members will be documenting their year long adventures in fabulous Cebu, Philippines. They've only been there for a few weeks but it sure sounds like they're having a ton of fun.

There's more stories of boozing and partying than actual poker playing in there at the moment. I wonder they'll get on track to hit their goal of earning $1 million in 1 year.

For now, I must agree with gerv's sentiment:

"I hate joenaes because he showed me pictures of Cebu that makes me FML"

Don't you wish you were there with those five sickos?

If you can't do Cebu, what about Gibraltar instead?

If you think the Philippines is too much of a leap for you, why not check out Gibraltar, which is near the south of Spain instead?

cornie4ever recently quit his nice career back home, and moved there to Gibraltar to pursue his passion for poker in a job with PokerStrategy.com. He sounds like a man with huge plans for himself and for the poker community in general.

He's currently charged with starting up our brand new Czech/Slovak community and from what I've read, there is a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Personally, I'm really interested to hear about what goes into the development of an awesome new community. This is definitely one blog I'll be reading much more of.

Girrafes
Did you get a giraffe in January?

Before I sign off for this week, I'm just curious: how were your poker results in January? Did you have a nice winning month with ever increasing profits? Or did you have a graph like mine, that looked sort of like an ostrich with its head in the sand?

Thankfully, many of our members have reported positive results for the month and have reported more giraffe-like graphs. in the January Graphs thread. pizzacat had an especially impressive looking one.

As for me, I'm too ashamed to share my results and will probably join the ostriches with my head in the sand.

Share your results in the January Graphs thread

That's it for now. I hope you've enjoyed the ride. Join me next week for more forum adventures.

Yours truly,
