Video Discussion - Mercier's Big Bluff
Jason Mercier is well known for his tournament prowess and aggressive play. With a WSOP bracelet, an EPT title and a list of achievements and stats that set him apart from the rest, it's plays like the one in this week's video that got him where he is today.
It's the WSOPE Main Event 2009 and Jason Mercier gets tangled in a big pot with amateur Saar Wilf. In a spot where a lot of players might assume they have little fold equity to bluff all-in, Mercier does just that and takes down a sizeable pot.
It feels like Mercier is almost never bluffing in this spot given the line and stack sizes, so the read and the play appear spot on.
What do you think of Mercier's play? What do you think of Wilf's flat-call pre and then turning his hand into a bluff on a dangerous board?
