PokerStrategy.com TV World Championship Final Player Profiles Part 1
We profile four of the hopefuls who have made the PokerStrategy.com TV World Championship in London this month.
The final of the PokerStrategy.com TV Championship takes place this month in London. On December 12-14 eight players will descend on the studios of the Poker Channel to do battle for the $20,000 first prize.
Each man, with the exception of PokerStrategy.com CEO Dominik 'Korn' Kofert, won their heat in the first round last month to book their seat in the final. They already know what it is like to win in the pressured environment of a TV studio, but how will their fare when the big money is on the line?
Today we take a look at the eight lucky players who will be vying for the title this month in London.
znah
22 year old znah of Russia was the first player to take down a heat, winning an all RU community heads-up battle with mcsias to secure his place in the final.
The young aggressive player put his chips to good use in heat 1, but it wasn't his poker skills that attracted the most attention.
It turns out he has another talent, as an aspiring beat boxer, and he impressed everyone in London and on the community forums with his vocal skills:
biggie1982
Everybody was talking about heat number 2, as it was quickly labeled the table of death in the PokerStrategy.com community.
That is because it featured PokerStrategy.com coaches dapapst & TwiceT, as well as prolific tournament pro Swordfish007, creating without doubt the toughest heat of the competition.
But rising above all of them, and doing us staff members proud in the process, was Eric 'Biggie1982' Loschan. He writes for de.PokerStrategy.com as his day job, but this time he was the one making the headlines.
Not only did he beat the toughest table, he made it look pretty easy in the process, and will be coming back to London full of confidence.
swapshop
Heat 3 was the second victory for a German player in the championship, as former PokerStrategy.com coach SwapShop cruised to victory.
By his own admission, he wasn't entirely sure what he was doing, as he is a cash game specialist and wasn't entirely sure about what the correct strategy was for his winner takes all single table tournament.
But what he lacked in STT strategy, he made up for in great poker instincts, and aggressively dispatched of the majority of his table on the way to the victory.
saviorhun
The PokerStrategy.com TV World Championship is all about stories, and heat 4 was the classic underdog story.
Saviorhun of Hungary was clearly very nervous ahead of the heat and very modest, telling anyone who would listen that he didn't have any chance at all at winning his heat.
This was looking likely too, as in the early going PokerStrategy.com coach TheLastNail was putting on a masterclass and looking like the big favourite to win the heat.
But the two clashed in a massive pot which Saviorhun won, eliminating TheLastNail in the process, and after that, Saviorhun cruised to victory.
