Strategy: 5 hints for playing Twister Poker

We recently reported about the new Twister Poker SNGs on the iPoker network.

The game is played 3-handed and in the turbo format. The prize pool can sometimes be bigger than the combined buy-ins of the three players. The prize pool is determined by a jackpot-pool as soon as the tournament begins.

To give you some support with your first steps in this new terrain, we have put together five hints to help you with Twister Poker.

Hint 1: No calls with speculative hands

You shouldn't call open raises with speculative hands if you would have to invest more than 10% of your stack. You call preflop in order to make a profitable postflop move on fitting board textures. Here, however, your preflop investment is too big and your potential implied odds are too low. You can't play fit-or-fold anymore. This also includes speculative hands like AT, KQ and Axs.
